How good is the battery life on my 11? I spent all day at , leaving at close. Relatives with iPhones had their batteries die around noon to mid-afternoon. Disneyland sells portable chargers everywhere. I never charged my phone once, used it all throughout the day (pretty much have to run Disneyland app), didn't use any power saving mode, etc, and when I got back in around 1:30am, I still had 55% left.

I did something today I never thought I would do. I got my first . I traded the Stagemaster for it. I would describe both the visuals and tone as "shiny".

I might put a pic or two of it on my Pixelfed in a couple of days.

@imabuddha Brian Setzer is immediately who I think of - or some random jazz guitarist. I recently found out the Fall Out Boy guitarist plays a Gretsch and I'm treating it as a sort of in between of my Strat and Ibanez and it fits nicely in that gap. Not as fat as a PAF and not as biting as a hot single coil.

vwbusguy,
@vwbusguy@mastodon.online avatar

@imabuddha It's kind of weird in that the soloing sounds clean and crisp but rhythm sounds/feels a bit dirty.

vwbusguy,
@vwbusguy@mastodon.online avatar

@mwhjohnson I have a PRS Custom 24-08, which is much more convincing for doing PAF and Strat sounds. This guitar tone lives somewhere inbetween those two worlds.

Pound for pound, the whammy system on a Stratocaster is as good as it gets. I'm obviously not saying it's better than everything else in every way, but I'd take it over a Bigsby or Floyd Rose for any that I'm also in charge of tuning and changing strings on.

The library is over here making lists not iterable and harming my sanity this morning.

TypeError: 'V1NamespaceList' object is not iterable

vwbusguy,
@vwbusguy@mastodon.online avatar

And yes, they named an object as List, so it's technically not a list type, but you can get the list with .items, which is unnecessarily pedantic since they could have provided an iter which does exactly this when you try to iterate it.

vwbusguy,
@vwbusguy@mastodon.online avatar

@trouble @diji It's a shame they can't also auto-generate an iter from openapi.

Remember that dicts can have tuples as keys! Consider a dict with (x,y) keys instead of nested lists for a grid. It simplifies sparse grids, "resizes" are automatic, it doesn't matter where (0,0) is, and you can use negative positions:

Adding more to the board in flexible ways. https://gist.github.com/nedbat/f22b03f70ceb9686881c4bcd442fad11

vwbusguy,
@vwbusguy@mastodon.online avatar

@nedbat Indeed - the key just needs to be immutable and unique.

I did something like this in a Rust program once, but using defined structs. Unsurprisingly, the python way is much less verbose.

Selling on Craigslist so far is a lot of people texting if it's still available, then never replying again when you say yes, except the ones that do reply after that are scammers with a pitch for some convoluted payment scheme.

How ubiquitous the was. It was in every doctor's office and in as many homes.

I don't remember the last time I saw a Readers Digest.
