It’s amazing the amount of “developers” that aren’t aware that semantic versioning is a thing.

C’mon that’s bullshit. 1/3 a cup of Splenda in a salad? If I said 1/3 a cup of sugar? Jesus Christ what are these recipes?! Lol

I’ve said this before on Lemmy but my honest opinion is many Jewish people have not healed from The Holocaust.

It’s well proven that hurt people hurt people.

I humbly submit the nation of Israel is committing genocide because deep down they are still profoundly hurting from WW2 and rightly so.

I mean let’s be real, the western world very much had a “fuck Jews” attitude up until and after the results of The Holocaust. Canada turned Jews away. America turned Jews away. UK turned Jews away.

They have every goddamn right to be angry.

Hurt people hurt people.

That’s how you know that no one important is invested in finding a solution.

We ain’t at risk for shit. I’d be genuinely jaw dropped if we fell below anything but AAA.

I bought at the peak for 750k and done close to jack shit and could sell for 1million. Bring on the fucking crash already.

It’s not going to though. Too many factors driving the price up which the government is not addressing.

I live in SW Ontario which used to be prime tobacco territory as in teenagers used to work tobacco fields in the 90’s when I was in HS. Both peanuts and tobacco love a loose sandy soil.

Point being, no one is expected to know how something grows unless they have some knowledge that makes them intimate or they’re a fucking nerd. Lol

Consumer Reports urges USDA to remove Lunchables From National School Lunch Program (advocacy.consumerreports.org)

Consumer Reports called on the Department of Agriculture today to remove Lunchables food kits from the National School Lunch Program. CR recently compared the nutritional profiles of two Lunchable kits served in schools and found they have even higher levels of sodium than the kits consumers can buy in the store. CR also tested...

If true LOfuckingL and I’m so not surprised.

I was listening to the radio yesterday about all the school boards now suing social media companies. It’s great and I applaud it but let’s get real, government is shirking their damn job if school boards are expected to reign in corporations.

We got this bad because of laissez faire attitudes around a free market and letting companies do what they damn well please.

More nefarious than that IMHO. The science community works on consensus.

So when we say temperature will rise by 2.5 degrees and we are fucked That’s the number they all agreed on.

99% of scientists may agree that a 1 degree rise means we are fucked. The 1% says 3 degrees. So if big business or shit government gets to that 1% they can control the narrative around what is socialized.

I’m a child of the 70’s. Scientists have been ringing the warning bell for decades. Look at how ocean acidification is swept under the rug in all climate discussions. Scientists know it’s a huge problem and has been since at least the 80’s but do ALL scientists agree we are fucked?

If I was a scientist I’d be so damn jaded at the state of the world.

At least we can all be happy we are helping people get rich. Thats what is important after all.

SW Ontario here but also spent a lot of childhood without cable.

TVO was a godsend allowing us to watch Black Adder, Red Dwarf and Doctor Who.

If I recall TOS was aired on CBC as well.

Omg same! A part of me died when SNATM transitioned to his kid and then he died. My love of movies comes from him. I’m 46 but one of my favourite movies is the Angela Lansbury “The Picture of Dorian Gray” from 1945.

We also forgot Prisoners of Gravity! Seeing interviews with comic, sci-fi and fantasy authors talking about their craft!

The 80’s truly was a magical time for TV in Ontario.

Explain why controversial? I have two autistic & ADHD sons and myself have ADHD aside from the bullshit about calling Asperger’s autism everything I’ve been told or read is factual.

Edit - just skimmed the wiki link. Looks like a lot of discourse around how it was made and the results that came from it. IMHO this is fair simply based on how large in scope it is. My curiousity is given the size of the discourse is it a large percentage of professionals or a small percentage? Far as I know it is the best, most used system for diagnosis.

I’d be mor concerned if there was no discourse.

It’s my firm belief that until we acknowledge this we are not moving forward. I’ve said this to downvotes on numerous related topics where the response is always “blame the government” or “blame the corporations” or “blame the billionaires”.

None of those excuses work because ultimately all of us are responsible for supporting a system that enables all those things and removes accountability from all but the ones who have no ability to change anything.

Collectively we need a good long look in the mirror about what is really important.

The other bigger problem is people have solutions. We’ve had solutions for decades if not centuries. Solutions no one wants to implement for a multitude of reasons of which a big one is “this is the way the system works”.

Fuck the system. The system is broken. We need to all come to that conclusion and then we can move forward.

We aren’t there yet.

However, as stress increases, so do norepinephrine levels. When norepinephrine is excessive, it stops activating those thinking parts of the brain[1] and instead starts activating the emotional parts of the brain.[2]

By dampening the ventromedial prefrontal cortex activity, stress inhibits the capacity to feel connected with others. People often become stuck in emotion-driven interpretations of events and are rapidly propelled into fight-or-flight mode, which limits our ability to respond flexibly and intentionally.[3]
