ContentConsumer9999,

I was a fairly new user. It was mostly because it was a popular platform so sometime during the quarantine I just started exploring it.

Thinking on creating a guide on leaving Twitter etc. for creators, etc., some tips on what it should include?

A lot of artists, etc. are reluctant to leave corporate social media like Twitter, due to fears over the Fediverse (usually spread by other people, that think Fediverse = Gab + some cryprobros + maybe Pawoo), or not willing to understand it....

ContentConsumer9999,

Maybe you could include some recommendations on carrying over content/followers. Especially if there're bots to do it.

Can't view the threads page of newcommunities@lemmy.world

Whenever I try to view the threads page of newcommunities@lemmy.world (i.e., https://kbin.social/m/newcommunities@lemmy.world), I get an error. It's only kbin.social where this happens, and it's only the threads page of this specific community. I can view the microblogs, the people, and even individual threads, but the threads...

ContentConsumer9999,

I'm having the same issue but the threads from @newcommunities still show up on my homepage and I can open them without trouble.

ContentConsumer9999,

I remember KES not functioning properly with Turbo mode. Has that been fixed with the new update?

ContentConsumer9999,

I think it makes going through Kbin smoother by not loading a new page each time you click on something.

ContentConsumer9999,

Great to hear! I'm assuming Turbo mode compatibility will be announced when it's released. Is there a experimental KES version that does have Turbo mode support?

How does one embed a GIF so it shows in a comment without clicking any links?

Test: https://tenor.com/fi/view/this-is-just-sad-sad-angry-mock-horror-gif-11156785

Test 2: <div class="tenor-gif-embed" data-postid="11156785" data-share-method="host" data-aspect-ratio="1.77515" data-width="100%"><a href="https://tenor.com/view/this-is-just-sad-sad-angry-mock-horror-gif-11156785">This Is Just Sad Angry GIF</a>from <a href="https://tenor.com/search/this+is+just+sad-gifs">This Is Just Sad GIFs</a></div> <script type="text/javascript" async src="https://tenor.com/embed.js"></script>

Test 3: I tried to add it as a picture as a file from the computer but editing this comment doesn't add it.

ContentConsumer9999,

What did you do for the first one?

ContentConsumer9999,

For me only the one before "Test:" seems to be working. Is that the 3rd one somehow going on top?

ContentConsumer9999,

This works!

ContentConsumer9999,

Hey, Ernest! Do you have any suggestions for userstyles? Maybe ones that includes stuff you want to add but don't have the time to yet.

ContentConsumer9999,

Well, that's not much of an instance recommendation was it? It might be up to the users to find instances that agree with them but they certainly can use the guidance of other users.

What are your thoughts on Microblogs vs threads?

When I first joined Kbin I posted threads due to being a reddit refugee but have started posting microblogs as time went on. I have also noticed some magazines have more threads while others have more microblog posts. For example kbinmeta has more threads while the most active magazine I moderate has mostly microblogs.

ContentConsumer9999,

I really hope magazines get the ability to detach from hashtags since currently @fediverse and @fediverse seem to be picking up all microblogs that use even if said hashtag is used to just refer to fediverse users.

ContentConsumer9999,

As someone who's never really utilized hashtags, do you have any suggestions?

ContentConsumer9999,

Did the new update change anything about how microblogs get sorted into magazines?

ContentConsumer9999,

Thanks for the insight! I was mainly wondering about how I should use hashtags on my own microblogs and comments but I didn't even think about using them as browsing tools. Could you maybe give more tips about the former?

ContentConsumer9999,

Thanks :)

ContentConsumer9999,

Thanks for the ! I'll try and use them to enrich my contributions to the .

/kbin RTR#10 Remove unused code, revert user mode, comments score, some fixes

Today I got rid of a lot of dead code, Szymon upgraded doctrine/annotations, which will be a prelude to a larger refactor soon. Additionally, I restored the experimental platform navigation mode. Threads, posts, and comments will have improved score counting, which will be useful not only in spam protection but also improve...

ContentConsumer9999,

we will now be keeping up with changes.

Does this mean we're now getting updates as soon as a feature airs out?

ContentConsumer9999,

I think that's acceptable if you're going for an eerie feel. It suggests maybe the caves aren't as abandoned as you think.

ContentConsumer9999,

What do you think about the term "Latinx"? Do you think there's a better term to use to be inclusive?

What's a great boardgame for two people? Not one for 2-4 where they wish you had 4 but you can scrape by with 2. And one you would have those two people play who rarely play boardgames ever and need convincing that it's a lot of fun.

Thank you in advance!

ContentConsumer9999,

@jupitersigh My favorite game Cosmic Encounter has a 2-player spinoff called Cosmic Encounter: Duel that can only be played with 2 players. It captures the chaotic essence of cosmic and renovates it in an easier to understand and linear way.

@stefan@stefanbohacek.online avatar

If your fediverse instance were to shut down today, where would you go?

ContentConsumer9999,

@stefan Well, I've heard that someone made a Kbin fork with additional features called mbin.social so I'd probably go there.

ContentConsumer9999,

I love Aliensrock's videos. They play lots of interesting puzzle/strategy games and the editing especially on their later videos is amazing. The editors somehow always manage to represent their complicated thought process. Also, they're good at explaining stuff which is I guess a must for puzzle/strategy channels.
