Trebach,

Some of the big subreddits have moderators that are admins, so they wouldn't go dark.

Trebach,

It's legal immunity from the content posted on their site under US law. If a site has safe harbor status, the user is liable for posting content on the site, not the site itself.

Trebach,

Sore subreddits are going dark until they cave.

Trebach,

He could have just added years to his sentence there.

Trebach,

It's past midnight on Wednesday in places that are UTC +5 or more.

Trebach,

Virginia's were deemed unconstitutional a few years back so they had to be redrawn.

Trebach,

"Pen island"
"Experts exchange" changed their domain to put a hyphen between the words.

Trebach,

The only time I've had to block a group of IP addresses, it was multiple addresses in that block performing the same behavior, so any overreach was just time saved.

Trebach,

There are occasional launches from Wallops Island, Virginia. That might be an option.

Trebach,

Their valuation by Fidelity (they're still private so this is a guess at what it's worth) already dropped by 41%.

Trebach,

"Ernest, we don't have a bigger server for you. I know your page hits suddenly exploded but this is the best we can do." — Hetzner

Trebach,

They're "fuck you" prices so they can say "well we offered them access to the API at a certain price but no one would take it".

Someone did. They had no idea how to deal with that because they didn't expect anyone to accept that price.

Trebach,

Even then some people throw their toys out because they believe "they" assumes a person is non-binary. "They" as a singular pronoun for someone of unknown gender has existed since at least the 16th century.

Trebach,

Click the thing between + and your username that looks like bullet points and text. A menu will appear. Click Subscribed and only the magazines you subscribed to will appear.

Trebach,

The difference is that this time, they've managed to anger a large part of every demographic. Last time, it was a certain type of person and the remainder just said "don't slam the door on your way out".

Trebach,

Some subreddits have committed to staying dark until these changes are reversed. Others are leaving that option open.

We'll see how many are in it for the long haul on Wednesday.

Trebach,

How dare someone be held accountable for their actions!

Trebach,

It was never meant to be a reasonable price. They didn't expect anyone to accept that and were baffled when someone developer actually was willing to pay it.

Trebach,

My friend used her brother's account to crush people in Counterstrike but didn't turn on her mic until the very end. Everyone else lost their shit.

Trebach,

And that's only the ones that have announced to /r/ModCoord that they are going dark since the site last refreshed. /r/detroitlions is going dark but isn't on that list.

Trebach,

Leave Javascript for nytimes.com and nyt.com blocked and the paywall doesn't seem to work.

Trebach,

This is something I'd expect from a bottom-rung, no money down, no credit needed used car dealer, not a $50k new electric car.

Trebach,

There's a dropdown at the bottom of the page and you can change the language of the UI there.

For posts/comments, use the dropdown next to the add button to select what language you're writing it in.
