tygerprints,

All of us are in the pre-world War III era and we're gearing up quickly for it. In many ways it's already underway, and we're just now starting to get ready go make it even more massive and global.

Welcome to the 21st century where men have evolved into nothing more than war mongering utter pieces of filthy shit. This is what will be all our legacy, a world scorched into oblivion and not a trace of humanity anywhere left on the planet. Perhaps that's for the best, really.

tygerprints,

No, you're both total morons and have absolutely no idea what actually works in the real world against viruses. If you think ivermectin is going to help with COVID, you're a total asswipe and a total moron, there's no ingredient in ivermectin that has any effect on the COVID virus whatsoever.

And no "god" is going to protect you from the horrible outcomes of your own ignorance. You don't get vaccinated, you take your chances at being killed by COVID, it's that simple. Period.

tygerprints,

I'm against war and warfare in every case, but since this war is well underway, I have no issue with Joe Biden legally sending millions of artillery shells to Ukraine; I have to believe that we should be doing everything we can to ensure that Russia does not prevail in their horrific genocidal global takeover.

tygerprints,

This is heartening in some ways, at least it's good news for certain people in that area of the U.S. Here in Utah, tenants have NO rights, and they are told that whenever they sign a lease. There are no options for tenants to retalitate against anything a landlord decides to do.

Of course, almost 100% of our "esteemed" legislatures here are landlords, so they are the one who pass the laws. And in Utah, a landlord is allowed to enter your premises and abscond with any item of furniture or equipment they so desire (if they want your stereo, it's theirs) and there is nothing a tenant can do. Tenants aren't even allowed by law to contact a landlord's place of business, under penalty of fines and jail sentences.

Our legislatures are strengthening landlord laws this session, so things will only get worse and worse for renters here.

tygerprints,

Thank god there's some actual justice in this world, somewhere. How ridiculous to arrest people having a peaceful protest, especially in regard to a subject that should concern everyone. I hope she continues to prosper and get famous for standing up against tyranny.

tygerprints,

Dehydrated water is great if you're going on a trip through a desert wilderness, carry some of it with you. You never know when you'll need it.

Just add water, to fill the whole can up, and voila, you've got instant water! It's amazing. : 0

tygerprints,

That's the first I've heard of this. I must be one of today's lucky 10,000.

tygerprints,

Oh yeah they'll probably accommodate you if you want to sit in their fire truck. Firemen encourage people to come check out their equpment (!) that didn't come out quite the way I hoped. You get what I mean - they like to have visitors.

tygerprints,

The media doesn't have to be hard on him when just reporting on what he says pretty much condemns him entirely.

tygerprints,

I keep my spare armadillo in a violin case so I can sneak by people like this.

tygerprints,

You could go up and start mounting the other dog's owner multiple times.

tygerprints,

He's a liar, a cheat, a blackmailer, and a woman hater. Sounds like a perfect congressman, if you ask me.

A Triceratops femur (left) compared to that of an African elephant (right) (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Bearing a large bony frill, three horns on the skull, and a large, four-legged body, exhibiting convergent evolution with bovines and rhinoceroses, Triceratops is one of the most recognizable of all dinosaurs and the best-known ceratopsian....

tygerprints,

Again, I'm just floored (so is the person in the photo!) by this kind of thing. To think such gigantic reptiles once populated this planet, for realsies. I mean if that doesn't sound like something out of the most way out kind of science fiction. And yet we had no idea such creatures existed until fossils began turning up around the 1820s.

Can you imagine what kind of plays Shakespeare would have written about dinosaurs if he'd known about them? But even suggesting that thunder lizards once existed on earth would probably have landed you in the stocks back then.

tygerprints,

I've seen many documentaries about this statue and from the first, I found it beautiful and engrossing. But then again, I've never been a christian - my family's pagan roots go back to the very beginning of time. And to honest, I sometimes find "christian" churches and cathedrals "terrifying" in their preservation of a dark-ages kind of sad reverence for spooky dieities and weird rituals. And paintings that are mystifying.

tygerprints,

You have to wonder how they react in a real crisis if they are so horrified by rainbow colors at target.

tygerprints,

Isn't it great to see how people react and respond to any situation these days. Such colorful language, such wonderful respect for others. Truly what a piece of work is man - how noble in reason, how infinite in faculty, in form and moving how express and admirable.... the beauty of the world, the paragon of animals. Yet how quickly undone by rainbow shirts at Target.

tygerprints,

Biden has actually had a lot of successes, it's just that people refuse to acknowledge them and one of the biggest faults of his campaign is focusing on "Bidenomics," which has worked, but hasn't really done much to help people with food costs or stretching their paycheck. What he really needs to focus on is the disastrous ruination of the country if trump ever gets back into any sort of public office. Because if that happens, america will not only no longer exist, no one in this country will survive at all.

tygerprints,

Stardew Valley expanded?? What is that? Is it something that is available to us long-term SV users? I bought Stardew Valley when it first came out and people looked at me like I was crazy for buying such an obviously casual and pixelated game.

tygerprints,

You can get all the iron you need from vegetables and certain meat or even taking supplements. There's no need to go about eating rusty metal. In fact, my doctor has advised me not to eat nails. I have to trust what he says, he's printed out several impressive medical degrees.

tygerprints,

Kindness IS punk as fuck. I've long known that kindness more than any other trait is the real hallmark of intelligence. You won't find much of it around here these days.

tygerprints,

Think of that huge mental travesty - people actually choosing to believe it's OK to hurt others because their religion "guides them" to. I had a former coworker once say to me (after I admitted I was gay): "Well my religion teaches that being gay is wrong." To which I literally screamed at the top of my lungs, "THEN WHY THE FUCK DO YOU BELONG TO THAT GOD-DAMNED RELIGION THEN! YOU FUCKED UP PIECE OF PIG SHIT!!!!" That caused a commotion, I can assure you.

Seriously, if someone's religion tells them they should hurt others - what does that say about them when they willingly choose to stay in such an organization. Any group tells me to hate another group, I have the good sense and the morals and ethics to say, NO. I WILL NOT.

"Christian" religion as an excuse for hate? Not a religion I would want in my neighborhood or anywhere children of any kind.

tygerprints,

As a lifelong democrat, I have to agree. The DNC is running scared, just like the RNC, but for different reasons. And yes I could be called a geriatric.

But I believe the problem is that we need to stop worrying about stepping on toes, maintaining a status quo that has never really worked, and has always favored the rich. I think we need a real, true blue, dyed in the fur ass-kicking braying Donkey to shake things up and say, "to hell with pleasing the moderates, we're gonna lead this nation into the 21st century whether it likes it or not." We need someone willing to be extremely far left enough to shake up people and wake them up and get truly progressive on their asses.

tygerprints,

Veganism is a choice that I respect, but after all we are omnivores, the dental folding and creases of our teeth are designed both for eating vegetables and for consumption of meat. And of the two, only vegetables actually are problematic in human digestion and can sometimes rot in the gut.

Also, interestingly, experts are now saying you SHOULD eat some bacon in your diet no matter what - it has the same Omega 3 fatty acids in its fat that fish has, and is actually good for your heart (not in massive quantities). So we've gone from banning bacon, to seeing it as a beneficial food.

For myself, I can't imagine not enjoying meat right off the bone, from a good pork chop, spare rib, or chicken wing. To me it's one of the most primal and satisfying of gustatory pleasures. But, I do see why other people choose not to consume meat, and I just hope they are staying well nourished and getting protein in some form.

tygerprints,

So true! MY dad used to pack us kids into the backseat, then drive us across country to see all the Southern states, or all the Eastern states, or all the midwest states. It was like, 600 miles a day in the back seat reading comics and eating cookies. I loved it. I've seen all the U.S. states, except Alaska and Hawaii. When I drive on a road trip myself, I take my time and I don't care if everyone else passes me - I'm not in any race, I just want to enjoy the scenery and relax and eat cookies and drink the views.

tygerprints,

Careful about picking up bats, they often are carriers of rabies and other diseases, even if they aren't sick themselves. And rabies can be transmitted just by touching them, even if the bat is dead when you pick it up. At least wear gloves for protection, but it's best to just not handle them at all.
