A reminder that less than two weeks ago, it was revealed that Trump solicited a $1 billion bribe from the energy industry, offering in return the gutting of environmental regulations.

A week ago, Big Journalism had already consigned this epic scandal to the memory bin.

Had Biden done anything remotely like that, I guarantee that it would still be among the top stories of the day -- and Congress, including Democrats, would be moving toward impeachment.

🧵Ich halte den Haftbefehl gegen Netanjahu und die Spitze der Hamas in vielen Punkten für problematisch.

  • Während Netanjahu in einem demokratischen Prozess gewählt wurde, hat sich die Hamas 2007 im Gaza an die Macht geputscht.
  • Während die Hamas am 7. Oktober Israel überfiel, 1200 Menschen ermordete, 200 verschleppte und in ihrer Agenda klar formuliert, den Staat Israel auslöschen zu wollen. Reagierte die israelische Armee damit die Hamas zu schwächen bzw. Zu zerstören. Nicht nicht Gaza. (1)

Terrororganisation wie die oder die sind keine Staaten. Sollen sie deshalb für nicht beim ICC angelegt werden können?

Und noch ein letzter Aspekt: vor dem Gesetz sind alle Menschen gleich.
Besteht ein ausreichender Anfangsverdacht, dann kann jeder angeklagt werden. Das ist Teil des Rechtsstaatsprinzips. Eine Anklage ist keine Verurteilung. Zudem gaben Prominente oft größere Geldmittel und damit Zugriff auf bessere Anwälte.

Es ist bereits so viel Blut geflossen. Eine Aussöhnung der derzeitigen Bewohner im Nahen Osten kann es nur irgendwann geben, wenn die Hintergründe auch juristisch aufgearbeitet sind.

Ich halte es i.Ü. für unwahrscheinlich, dass #Bibi in 2025 nicht hinter Schwedischen, äh, israelischen Hardinen sitzt.--Jedoch für Rechtsbrüche in Israel.

Wie du vllt. in meinen Posts der letzten Monate gesehen hast, differenziere ich immer genau.

Allerdings halte ich das Ergebnis--Gaza und die Lebensgrundlage von mehreren Millionen wohl für Jahrzehnte ausradiert zu haben und dabei ca. 35 tausend zivile Opfer in Kauf genommen zu haben für völlig unverhältnismäßig.

...bis zu seinem ICC-Termin sich endlich vor der noch funktionierenden nationale Gerichtsbarkeit für seine mutmaßlichen Vergehen verantworten müssen.
So, wie dies z.B. Frankreich mit seinen straffällig gewordenen Politikern tut...und so, wie dies die USA nun mit Trump versucht.

Es gibt keine Card Blanche, für niemanden.

Das ist zumindest die Weltordnung, die ich mir vorstelle.

Und ich sage es nochmals: das Gros der Millionen Palästinenserflüchtlinge sind ebensowenig Hamas-Terroristen wie die rund 35T zivilen Opfer.

Nein, der Konflikt begann nicht mit dem unmenschlichen Überfall auf Feiernde am 7. Oktober.
Er begann auch nicht erst mit der Gründung der Hamas.

Auch wenn ich selbst immer wieder vom "Gazakrieg" geschrieben habe, so ist es eigentlich gar kein richtiger Krieg. Die Bevölkerung kämpft nicht gegen Israel wie zB die Ikrainer gegen die russische Armee. Es ist viel mehr eine relativ einseitige Vernichtungsaktion gegen eine Terrormiliz in der "ungünstigerweise" eine Zivilbevölkerung im Weg ist.

Es wird auch noch über den unverantwortlichen Einsatz von KI seitens der IDF zu reden sein,...
