I survived a lot of things, so I like to talk about what brings me peace and joy - gardening, birds, insects, houseplants, nature, cooking. (He/him)

But here’s some advice, boy. Don’t put your trust in revolutions. They always come around again. That’s why they’re called revolutions.

It was because he wanted there to be conspirators. It was much better to imagine men in some smoky room somewhere, made mad and cynical by privilege and power, plotting over the brandy. You had to cling to this sort of image, because if you didn't then you might have to face the fact that bad things happened because ordinary people, the kind who brushed the dog and told their children bedtime stories, were capable of then going out and doing horrible things to other ordinary people. It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was Us, then what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

Apropos of nothing:

‘We Shall Overcome’ is a song which, in various languages, is common on every known world in the multiverse. It is always sung by the same people, viz., the people who, when they grow up, will be the people who the next generation sing 'We Shall Overcome’ at.

It took 2.5 years, but I finally had my first very unpleasant encounter here on Mastadon. Really nasty individual. Oh well.

The reason why we would love to see more accounts talk about composting on the is simple.

You will be able to focus on your area and explain to local people what they can compost and where they can get their organic matter.

You can create a local community that will help your local area make a better place.

If we started this account it is for a main reason. Make people understand that by choosing to compost they can have a positive impact and do something about the .

So creating a multitude of local accounts that will allow people to organize and make their area a better place is a very powerful thing to do for the .

@compost Here in Saskatchewan, things are just slower since even the hottest compost pile freezes solid at extended periods below -20°C (even -30). So more patience is required.

This was from my backyard last night. Didn't see much on Friday night because of high cloud, but last night more than made up for it.

@AskPippa Well, at least you have a struggle. Here on the prairies, it will be some time before green makes an appearance
