(long video) Last night, we watched the #WondrousJourneys fireworks show from #BlackSpireOutpost to check out the #FireOfTheRisingMoons version of the show, with a galactic score whereas there used to just be ambient #Batuu sounds to accompany the fireworks. They did a decent job trying to match music to a pre-existing show that has a completely different subject matter, but there are definitely awkward and dead moments, #Disneyland#StarWars#StarWarsGalaxysEdge 1/3
With the dialogue announcement, you're also a bit more prepared when the first fireworks go off, which has less of a chance of just scaring people and surprising them with no preamble. #FireOfTheRisingMoons#BlackSpireOutpost
@kurtsh I think with how bulky the rancor teeth set is, they might not have room to stock them at Dok's, with the lightsabres and other bulky items they have there.
Was so excited to see #SabineWren yesterday at #BlackSpireOutpost . I don't usually do pictures with folks but with a nudge from a friend, we have a picture with Sabine, and we got to chat with her for a bit too.
And I must have read the original announcement wrong, because I thought there was going to be more than one extra destination scene. So as much as I like the #purrgil being on Seatos, I'm disappointed that there's only one new destination scene.

We also tried the new fried chicken bao at #DockingBay7 yesterday - crispy chicken bao (the chicken are crispy, not the bao), spicy katsu sauce and creamy slaw. Good texture on the bao, good flavor on the chicken with the little bit of spicy from the sauce tempered by the coolness of the slaw. Really enjoyed this dish too. @cstephens2 Christ, guests can be whiny. I've noticed that they've really ratcheted down the authenticity of the original Batuu. Everything used to be 'credits' and 'holoscans'. Now, the cast members regularly blow it off... probably because Billy Bob can't understand the concept of world building.

@kurtsh I totally get it, and I agree. Within minutes on Friday, we had two totally different CM interactions. We were asking about Sabine and her availability for the rest of the afternoon. One CM said to ask a character handler, and they could tell us. 😟🙄 A second CM we talked to said Sabine had gone off planet because Ahsoka had sent her on a little mission.
I try to stay with on-planet language but sometimes, CMs don't even understand what I'm saying.
Our first visit to #GreatMaple#GreatMapleAnaheim was dinner on Easter Sunday. They had a few specials, and I had to try the truffled egg tarts. We did not expect the dish to be that large. The husband and I each had one, and then we ended up sharing the third to a new friend we made that night. Overall, I enjoyed the dish, and the tart was nice and flaky. #PixarPlaceHotel#Disneyland /1
Even though we had a reservation, we ended up sitting at the bar, which we enjoyed. Bar seating is on a first come, first served basis, and there are even four loveseats, two on each side of the bar. I've never seen those before.

It's nice to have a meal option that's more of a family restaurant that isn't a buffet and isn't a character meal. It's a non-Disney-owned restaurant who handles the food service for the entire hotel. Unfortunately, 1 is currently inaccessible as it's on the floor of the A elevator, which is not currently in service. Will have to go back and look for that another time.

On our visit to #PixarPlaceHotel , we were lucky enough to see #JoeGardner there playing the piano. He played for a while before finishing his set and leaving. That entire stairway is themed to #SoulMovie . #Disneyland 2/2
We noticed yesterday that the lounge area of the former #Steakhouse55 at the #DisneylandHotel is open for food, drinks and general hanging out. I'm still baffled as to why they closed the restaurant but I'm glad the lounge isn't just sitting there empty (though presumably, the dining room is just sitting there empty for some inexplicable reason). 1/2
The lounge is open from Wednesday to Sunday, starting at 4pm. When are their closing hours? Umm, they're open from "4pm - close", which is not at all helpful in telling you when they actually close on any given day that they're open. #Steakhouse55#DisneylandHotel 2/2
