The Norwegian Parliament passed a law today that bans "conversion therapy" for LGBT people. The penalty is up to 6 years in prison. It passed with 85 against 15 votes.
@shhalahr@hanselot The two parties that voted against are right wing populists and Christian conservatives. The former ironically calls itself the Progress Party. It has several politicians I'd consider far right and who subscribe to far right conspiracy theories.

The trouble with "conversion" is it's a real word with a real meaning , like "transition" is a real word with real meaning and so, my heart stopped. I thought we had lost Norway!
