Okay, Mastodon! I have a #fungus#mycology mystery for you. Can anyone tell me what exactly is growing out of the path to my backyard? If it helps, I live in #Winnipeg, which is in #Manitoba, about 620.1 km / 385.31 mi north of Minneapolis.

#fungifact 🍄📷 Nitrathelmlinge haben immer einen nitratartigen, unangenehmen Geruch und dind ungenießbar. Es gibt mehrere sehr ähnliche Arten die nur mikroskopisch unterscheidbar sind.

Es un hongo australiano / neozelandés (por supuesto que tenía que ser australiano con esas pintas de mata viejas), y sin embargo lleva décadas creciendo en diferentes puntos de mi jardín (os prometo que yo no he sido quién ha introducido una especie alienígena en nuestro entorno!!).
I have recently had Wolfs milk start growing in the soil in my vegetable garden and was wondering if I would have to get rid of the soil and start over or if the food is still safe to eat. I tried to search what would happen if accidentally ingesting the slime mold but could not find any answers online.
More mushroom photos. I am sure this one is in the amanita genus but I don't know the species. Some amanitas are edible but the genus also includes Death Caps, (Amanita phalloides) Destroying Angel, (Amanita virosa) and at least two species of magic mushrooms the False Blusher (Amanita pantherina) and the Fly Agaric (Aminita muscaria). This isn't any of the amanitas I already know about. #mycology#mushroom#amanita
Speaking of my latest hyperfocus, how are there not more posts on #Mycology here? This must change, but I'm literally just now learning about it so some pros should really step in. No deaths due to lookalike 'shrooms on my watch, please.

@sigrid Bei uns fangen die Nebelkappen auch gerade an zu wachsen, genau passend zum Wetter, dass jetzt unzweifelhaft herbstlich geworden ist.

Right now I’m in southern France. Seeing these fungi for the first time. Unfortunately I don’t have my books/equipment with me, so no chance for me to get an ID … Does anybody want to venture a guess of what they are? Growing right beneath a Pittosporum sp.
@sigrid Guten Morgen! So einen schönen Parasolpilz 🤩 hätte ich auch gern mal auf meiner Fundliste! Bei der gestrigen Runde im Wald gab's aber dennoch einen eher seltenen #Pilz zu bestaunen (#diekleinendinge)
Er ist essbar und gilt als Heil- oder Vitalpilz. Aber da er auf der #RotenListe aufgeführt ist, hiess es 'nur gucken, nix anfassen'! Auf u.a. der Webseite des NABU Karlsbad-Waldbronn finden sich viele Informationen zu den Stachel- und Korallenpilzen.
