990000, Ugh. If the new bus terminal is going to look anything like that wavy glass Chang Feng building they did, I'm going to be sad. It looks like a tacky design from a Star Wars prequel.

Ugly shiny building with lots of big rounded corners and wavy glass

sem-sinchenko, Another day, another photo of Yugoslav modernist architecture :D
This is the New Belgrade Municipality. Built in 1975, architect Ljupko Ćurčić. One of my favorites in all of the New Belgrade!

That it sticks an image in breaks the preview that ice cubes offers.
pixel, @sanguish it’s a custom script I wrote.
kerfuffle, Too often, what people call technical debt is simply an encounter with the limits of functional anticipation. If you think a system will never need to do X given the foreseeable usecases and then one day it does need to do X, you don't have technical debt.
Technical debt arises when you then try to shoehorn the needed functionality in, instead of asking/making/taking the time and effort to redesign it.
kerfuffle, In fact, I've come across more technical debt in systems that tried to anticipate more functionality than reasonably foreseen: overzealous abstraction and open-endedness in a technical implementation can be a nightmare to work with. It's healthier to foster a culture where developers can cooperatively make disciplined adjustments to their software.

hastingsmothman, Lovely trip to Clough William-Ellis’s Portmeirion - ‘I am not a number, I am a free man!’ purchasing an obligatory The Prisoner mug … followed by a walk and an afternoon on the Blaenau Ffestiniog heritage railway #portmeirion #theprisoner #architecture #wales #holiday #railway #train #history #heritage #culture #walking #wanderlust #alttext
View through an arch across a piazza in Italian folly villlage of Portmeirion. Through the arch is a giant chess board beyond which are some shallow steps leading up to a fountain. Topiaried bushes are either side of the steps. Pastel coloured buildings in the background
A view down an alley overlooking a round house used as Number 6’s house in The Prisoner. It is circular with white washed bottom half and peachy pink top half. Some flowers and bushes are beyond
View from a railway bridge overlooking two steam train engines on a platform. The one on the left faces us and a man is working near the footplate. On the other platfrom the rear coach of a line of coaches about to depart away from us. Some benches are on the platform between and a metal railway bridge goes over both platforms

wrldbhindmiror,
ajsadauskas, A huge congratulations to @philipthalis on his well-deserved award.
Philip is undeniably both one of Australia's most respected architects and a tireless advocate for good urban design.
More importantly, he's not afraid to speak up publicly against bad state government planning decisions, as he did with Barangaroo, even when there's a personal cost.
