Produced by Elvis Costello, it’s just one of those classic endlessly playable and FUN albums.
I can’t spin this without immediately wanting to hear The Selecter’s Too Much Pressure afterward.
So that’s probably hitting the table after this gem. #vinyl#vinylrecords#80s#80smusic#ska#TheSpecials
One of my favorite female artists, & a total comfort album for me.
Sometime around 2001, Suzanne did a meet & greet/in-store performance at the record store I worked at in Harvard Square (it’s sadly no longer there).
She was so incredibly wonderful; staying for much longer than she needed to. She met every fan, signed everything, & hung out with us staff afterwards & told us dirty jokes. She’s the best. #vinyl#vinylrecords#80s#80smusic
Happy birthday to rocker @DeeSnider of Twisted Sister. The band had a pair of hits in 1984 "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock". #80s#80smusic#1980s
Apart from his two huge mid-80s hits I don't think Eric Carmen had a huge influence at least in the UK, but it's yet another sad entry on the #TOTP roll-call of "oh, they're dead now" on Friday nights.
Listening to the masterpiece from 1981 that is Japan's "Tin Drum" album. The perfect timing and complex beats of Steve Jansen, the driving bass of Mick Karn, the icy synths of Richard Barbieri and, of course, the haunting vocals of David Sylvian. Simply brilliant and holds up to this day.
It's an hour well spent whether you revisit the album or hear it for the first time. Enjoy!
“Hoping for the best but expecting the worst; are you gonna drop the bomb or not?” … is there a lyric that sums up the #GenX experience more than this?

Despite how massive “She Drives Me Crazy” was (& still is), I feel that this is one of the great underrated ALBUMS of all time. A very artful record that has aged very well.
Better than a lot of the other pop that came out around that same time.
But let’s put that aside…
You NEVER hear Roland Gift’s name mentioned in regards to the great vocalists in history. Pop or not.
That’s insane. #vinyl#vinylrecords#80s#80smusic#1980s
This @SPINMag post reminded me of the ‘Purple Rain’ era #LiveMusic album that finally saw an official release a couple of years ago. One of the best shows in a lifetime of great performances.
Today's vinyl arrival - been eyeing this one for a while. One of my favorite songs from my favorite band, circa 1988. And with a (killer) Who cover on the b-side! Wasn't pricey, but just never jumped before. Plus, this copy is minty! 🔥
I saw this clip tonight, and I was transported to my senior year of high school. I lip-synced and danced to "Every Little Step" by Bobby Brown for our Christmas talent show in front of my entire school. I wore a tank top, suspenders, spandex shorts, and a hat. I surprised everyone and tied for 1st place! 😆

All these years later… still a fun as hell #80s pop record.
One of my five or so preferred pop albums from that decade. “Space Age Love Song” is an incredible song, and it’s not even what this record is known for.
"Room Without a View" is an awesome Smithereens song (the vocals, melody, bassline! 🤯) and I found this GREAT fan-made video for it that really sums up the whole thing.
When you're down in the dumps, just remember the earth is4,5 billion years old and you managed to exist at the same time as #VanHalen.
And yesssssssss - I do love love love David Lee Roth. #music#80smusic#DavidLeeRoth#DLR#DiamondDave
