Handphone Table is a 1978 art installation by Laurie Anderson consisting of a five-foot long wooden table with a hidden sound system heard only by "becoming actively involved with the work".
"The inspiration for The Handphone Table began when Anderson was writing on an electric typewriter and, in a moment of frustration, put her head in her hands, elbows on the table."
It's interesting to see how much David Galbraith's art installation at the Stockingfield Bridge on the Forth and Clyde Canal has changed already. It represents nature reclaming the city's idustrial past, and so far nature seems to be doing a very good job of it!
