Finished our bookings for today. First time we attend since the pandemic. Also looking forward to , my favourite conference city so far.

Not looking forward to the price level and the tipping culture though. It was bad before and is apparently way out of control now. At least there's always convenience stores and McDonald's.

New server, new introduction!

I'm Lily, a proud trans lesbian from Denver, a mom of a 12 year old, and am engayged to the love of my life!
I'm a neurodivergent woman in tech working as a Senior SRE at Writer and was previously the admin of outdoors.lgbt and firefish.lgbt

For fun I like to hang out with my kiddo, play guitar, snowboard, go camping, play videogames, hang out at the local lesbian bar, and see whatever kind of trouble my partner @deb and I can get into on the weekends.

Mini-review of Fox & the Hen — Carrie Baird’s new brunch spot in

  • It’s literally the hottest brunch spot in Denver bc the A/C is terrible

  • Cocktails are fantastic. Would be even better if they came before the food

  • While the menu looks very fun, the food under it is pretty basic. Solid but far from spectacular.

Suggest trying it once (on a day that’s not too hot) and never going back again.

time to get some loose ideas for my next job out there!

  • solutions
  • fully remote or located in the area (primarily WFH, single dad 🐶)
  • intensive or -related (really enjoy building, maintaining, expanding and working with and scaling + stateful systems)
  • Cross-functional (i’ve had tons of fun working with business, intelligence, and other eng teams)

not totally ready to start applying rn, but would love to chat!

Meanwhile in , yet one more incident that suggests in are much to eager to reach for their guns... a police office who had been on the scene of an incident less than a minute shot dead an unarmed man who had been tasered already...

I'm not sure how my American friends feel safe in a country where lethal violence is always the go to solution....

Bonded buddies Paco (mostly white and brown) and Pepe (mostly white and black) have really neat tri-color patterns in their fur! Meet them at the Animal Shelter.

When we bought our home 15 summers ago, the backyard was basically lawn and Virginia Creeper. There wasn't bird song. Or pollinators. Just a lot of scorching Colorado (US) sun and Kentucky Bluegrass that wanted vast quantities of water in a state that historically doesn't have a lot of water. It wasn't a place where my melanin-challenged family could spend much time. 1/7

Greetings, nation!

Once again, The Spice Baron is hosting a Denver area Meetup on Aug 26th with (probably NSFK) anti-woke comedy, BBQ goats, and fun! We will also try to get a good audio report in for @adam and @Johncdvorak

This time we will be at our private ranch/urban farm at Oak and 72nd in Arvada, CO.

Details and RSVP (we would like a good headcount) at: https://noagendameetups.com/event/baron-harkonnens-birthday-bbq-and-comedy-show/

Was sitting in a bar on E Colfax yesterday, when I saw a man pass in a Superman outfit. Got my phone & ran out to see him, but he was gone! Did he fly away? Nope, he’d just turned the corner. Was able to snap a photo as he passed into the neighborhood. Up up and away…
