Finished our bookings for #SC23 today. First time we attend since the pandemic. Also looking forward to #Denver , my favourite conference city so far.
Not looking forward to the price level and the tipping culture though. It was bad before and is apparently way out of control now. At least there's always convenience stores and McDonald's.

Yesterday, we had a quiet afternoon lunch in #Telluride Today, was a fun drive along US550 between #Ouray and #Silverton ; the #MillionDollarHighway. Wow, what majestic scenery with impressive mountains. Couldn’t gawk too much as no shoulders and unforgiving drop-offs. Silverton was touristy but we had a pleasant stroll up and down the main drag and got funnel cake and coffee. Sadly, our #Colorado#Vacation is drawing to a close. Now planning a scenic route back to #Denver and our flight home.
Meanwhile in #Denver, yet one more incident that suggests #police in #America are much to eager to reach for their guns... a police office who had been on the scene of an incident less than a minute shot dead an unarmed man who had been tasered already...
I'm not sure how my American friends feel safe in a country where lethal violence is always the go to solution....

When we bought our home 15 summers ago, the backyard was basically lawn and Virginia Creeper. There wasn't bird song. Or pollinators. Just a lot of scorching Colorado (US) sun and Kentucky Bluegrass that wanted vast quantities of water in a state that historically doesn't have a lot of water.
