It's job application weekend again with 5 weeks on the current clock. It is painful. there's nothing that really "fits" skills or location (Bendigo, Victoria, Australia). No permanent roles, all short term.
If you want to headhunt a highly trained, super experienced, skilled researcher and geospatial data analyst, who can lead teams and develop concepts from dream to strategy to reality to results, and is trusted to get remote work done - reach out! Save me and my referees a pile of effort.
Alright guys, I am looking for freelancing opportunities.
I am starting out as a freelancer in software development (full stack web), I have quite a bit experience in web and mobile and therefore I can create mobile apps, web apps and websites for you. Also I am offering my services to you in reducing your business' dependence on microsoft and big tech.
I am willing to do a small scale project for you for free in exchange for a recommendation in return and your permission to showcase the project on my website.
Name is Gabriel, I am generalist artist whose expertise is pixel art and animation. I do a little bit of everything, from VFX to more "traditional" digital illustration. Right now I am looking for more mid to long duration projects, but I may take small gigs if they are interesting enough!
Folks, I'm starting my post-#PhD job search low-key on the side while I write up my #thesis.
I have an odd collection of skills - #Linux, #Python, #Jupyter, #pandas, #DevRel, and I've done a lot of work in team leadership and management, and have led a multi-million $ not for profit in the past. Keynote speaker.
I'm looking for something that harnesses all of these skills - and it will be a senior role with senior pay, given my experience, qualifications and proven capability. I have time and will be discerning about my next step.
Job titles that might fit here would be Senior Research Engineer, Engineering Lead, Lead AI Engineer or similar.
Looking for fully remote work, with one day a fortnight max in #Melbourne, AU. If you don't believe in #RemoteWork or #WFH, we're not a good fit.
Super keen on something full time rather than splitting my attention over multiple part-time roles.
Looking to start around August, so a fair amount of lead time.
Keen on organisations that have strong values alignment - #FAIR and #CARE data use, #EthicalAI, AI for social good.
Also quasi #Webadmin.
Security folks, I need some help. My wife is looking for a job after taking a few years off to take care of the kids and she's having a hard time finding legit security opportunities. And the legit ones she does find don't like the gap in her resume.
If you have or know of any legit remote openings for someone with experience in identity and access management, can you please share?
She has her CISSP and while most of her experience is in IAM she's willing to branch out and learn a new specialty. She also happens to be both the faster learner and the smarter one of the two of us!
🚀 Excited to share my expanded consulting services! From Debian systems, Asterisk VoIP, and LDAP integration to mastering email server setups for unbeatable deliverability. I've run email for a hosting company, ensuring top-notch SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records. Ready to elevate your IT infrastructure? Let's chat!

Engineer diving into the tech world with #Linux, #PHP, #Java, #C/#C++, and a knack for turning complex problems into simple solutions. Crafted server tools, anti-fraud tech, and #VoIP solutions for global Fortune 500s & startups. Speaker of #Spanish, proficient with #Xen, #LDAP, and #LAMP Stack. Seeking a consulting/full-time role to bring my coding skills to new heights. Let's make tech that matters.
I'm looking for a contract frontend dev to help reduce our backlog of small & medium UI issues and maintenance tasks at @redqueen.
We're a tiny team, so the context switching for this sort of bread and butter work is brutal on the two folks who are responsible for designing and building out more substantial architectural stuff & infrastructure. I think that having someone else on hand to help pick up that slack could be really useful for us.
The core skills we're looking for are HTML, CSS, and Django. Our application is focused on server-side rendering; we are not building an single-page app. We're looking for someone who's solid on the basics: semantic web, and accessibility.
In a perfect world this person would have the ability to learn Rust (or maybe already knows some). Our HTML rendering is not in Rust, but it will probably move there within the next year. We will be using more JavaScript (written as TypeScript) over time, but this is not a skill we need right now, so that's a nice bonus (or learning opportunity) too.
Right now, we're a small five-person team, most of whom work Pacific hours. But we're optimistic that this sort of work is pretty self-contained, and should be possible asynchronously, so we're open to any time zone. Unfortunately, we are only able to contract with people authorized to work in the US, though you can be located anywhere.
Extremely excited to share my team at NVIDIA is hiring for a full time role working on ✨ open source Python packaging projects ✨ like Warehouse, pip, and more!
If you are or know someone excited about open source Python development, especially focusing on open source packaging projects, please take a look! And if you have any questions for me, please reach out.
Come work with us at @developmentseed as a Cloud Engineer! You'll be developing tools to handle lots of 🌎 Earth Observation data, manage ☁️ cloud infrastructure, and work with open source 🤗
Nice to have is some familiarity with cloud-native formats like @zarr, Cloud-optimized GeoTIFF, GeoParquet, etc (or a willingness to pick them up)!
I'm preparing for a system design interview for a job (in Elixir), involving an event based system
I've found something from interview.io and I will re-read "Designing Data Intensive Applications" soon but I wanted to see if there was some popular resources on either system design interviews, event based systems or even both!
I don't suppose there are any freelance #DataAnalysts interested in mentoring an apprentice middle-aged queer guy with a spotty work history, #MentalIllness and an absolute loathing of and revulsion to traditional performative job interviews (blind dates on steroids), knowledge quizzes, and milquetoast linkedin-style "networking", are there? Yeah, didn't think so. But I've already written all of this so here you are.
I have a solid history working with spreadsheets, relational databases, rudimentary knowledge of PHP and Python. At a previous employer I designed and programmed custom scripting for multiple variable data printing projects. I was enrolled in Google's "Data Analyst" training on Coursera but unfortunately can't afford the monthly fees to continue.
The caveat is you would need to meet or exceed my current generous retail salary of $15/hr. Try me for a week. If you aren't satisfied, just assassinate me in lieu of payment.
I’m a Website Designer and Frontend Developer with a wealth of experience. I’m people driven, excel in cross-communication, working in teams, problem solving and enjoy client communication.
Passionate about web accessibility
Genuinely like documentation and client education
Prefer lean, modular, reusable and light JavaScript implementations
Simplifying complexity is my jam
I am happy with Contract or Permanent roles. Remote. US based.
