Basically confirms and expands on Darwin's understanding of adaptive radiation in Galapagos finches in real-time. Adaptive radiation is the idea that a population, in an environment with varied unoccupied habitats and resources, can relatively quickly diverge into many new species.

Lying in the eastern Pacific Ocean, straddling the equator off the west coast of South America, the Galapagos is the most pristine archipelago to be found anywhere in the tropics.
The first mangroves I ever saw were in the #galapagos, and I tried to convince my 12 year old how important they are, globally, but I'm not sure I got through to him. He was more into the lizards and adorable little crabs.
