I absolutely loved my short visit to Miami Beach! It's a shame the rain cut our beach time short, but I'm looking forward to returning for a longer stay. I truly wish there was a way for you to smell the rain in the air at Miami Beach!
anyways if anyone wants a hard worker (but not a 9-9 "hard" worker 🫠) with highly-scalable, event-driven backend experience with #TypeScript and #Clojure (as well as some AWS experience, iOS/macOS dev work, and a research scientist background) I am looking for work! Open to in-person/hybrid in downtown #miami and #miamibeach and remote roles as well. #getfedihired
Join us at the Miami Beach City Commission chambers and give public comments opposing the inhumane criminalization of unhoused folx! This proposal means jail or shelter for all unhoused folx in Miami Beach — deportation and internment on the mainland.
Anarchists and community partners are organizing against forcing unhoused folx into interment camps and reinstating Miami Beach as a sundown town! @noberesistance@SMASHMiami@BuddySystemMIA@greenbackdistro@miaracialequity
On Wednesday, September 13, The Miami Beach City Commission will consider and vote on a proposal to authorize Miami Beach police to arrest poor people for sleeping in public if they refuse shelter and "services."
Shelter or jail is violent coercion, genocidal policy of internment of unhoused folx, and violates the rights to freedom of movement. This is especially horrific considering that there are no jails nor available shelter beds in Miami Beach. The majority of unhoused folx are black — thus police would be forcibly removing them from the City at night, back to the mainland of Miami for interment.
Miami Beach would be a sundown town, again.
Join us at the Miami Beach City Commission chambers and give public comments opposing this inhumane proposal Wednesday, September 13th at 8:30am at 1901 Convention Center Drive (Second floor: Meeting rooms 222-225)
Standing in the sand on Miami Beach was a feast for the senses and a high point in my life. A rainstorm was coming and it would be raining that night. This was my view in the late afternoon. The smell of the air and the sound of the waves was tremendous!
