State Supreme Court judge blocked #Trump’s attempt to gain access to #NBC’s documentary material related to adult film actress #StormyDaniels.
Manhattan Judge Juan #Merchan said Trump atty’s subpoena was “far too broad” & did not meet the #legal standard to compel #NBCUniversal to turn over docs & other items related to the documentary “Stormy.”
“In the instant matter, the Defendant seeks ‘all’ documents, including but not limited to vague & overbroad requests,” #Merchan wrote in the ruling issued Friday.
The fmr #RNC chair is in talks w/a prominent #mediatalent lawyer about potential #legal claims.
…McDaniel expects to be fully paid out for her contract — 2 yrs at $300k annually — since she did not breach its terms, acc/to a person close to McDaniel. That means that her single, not-quite-20-min interview Sunday could cost NBC >$30k per min, or $500 per sec.
That might be just the beginning of the fallout following yesterday’s announcement from #NBCUniversal News Group Chair #CesarConde that the deal, first announced on Fri, would be canceled. #RonnaMcDaniel spoke yesterday w/Bryan Freedman, renowned lawyer to the estranged cable-news stars, to discuss #legal options even beyond recouping the dollar value of her #contract.
Just what is there to hash out? Fire Ronna McDaniel or NBC is done.
“Top executives from NBC News were expected to meet Tuesday to hash out the growing controversy around her recent hire, according to two people familiar with the matter, in a bid to stop a growing insurrection by the NBCUniversal unit’s editorial staff, ” Variety reports.
Thru that process #RonnaMcDaniel built a good rapport w/ #NBCNews execs Carrie Budoff Brown, snr VP of politics, & Rebecca Blumenstein, pres of editorial. McDaniel left the RNC, signed on w/ #CAA [further proving Republicans are just actors] & went looking for a TV contract.
…The #McDaniel deal was unanimously supported by leaders of all their networks, …including by …[the] president of #MSNBC.
The announcement came in a memo from #NBCUniversal#News Group Chair #CesarConde, who said he had listened to “the legitimate concerns” of many network employees. “No organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive & aligned,” he wrote. “Over the last few days, it has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal."
Conde also apologized to employees “who felt we let them down” & took “full responsibility” for the hiring. #NBC#NBCNews#MSNBC#RonnaMcDaniel
If NBC wants to get their money's worth from Ronna McDaniel, may I politely suggest that they keep her in the dark, in the basement, chained up, until she spills all about Trump and his corrupt administration.
“Ronna facilitated Trump’s corrupt fake elector plot & his effort to pressure MI officials not to certify the legitimate election outcome. She spread his lies & called 1/6 ‘legitimate political discourse.’ That’s not ‘taking one for the team.’ It’s enabling criminality & depravity."
