Four years ago, Trump continued his dereliction of duty in the face of national crisis, telling governors they were on their own in the fight against Covid. “Respirators, ventilators, all of the equipment – try getting it yourselves,” he told them.
@rbreich People died because of trump's approach to the distribution of masks and other personal protective equipment.
States were forced to compete against each other and with the federal government for supplies.
Feds were even confiscating shipments from the states. Governor of MD hid his state's PPE from feds and called up National Guard to protect the stockpile.
This is how bad it was during the trump admin. People wanting a 2nd term have somehow forgotten this or don't care. #neverforget
Im Dorf weiß angeblich keiner was davon. Nicht nur ich bin offenbar sprachlos. #neverforget
View upwards from the inner courtyard of Hartheim Castle. The sky looks innocently blue.
But you have to consider the context: The castle was the terrible place where the Nazis murdered around 30,000 people with gas: disabled people, mentally ill people, socially disadvantaged people, prisoners, i.e. people who, in the opinion of these crimes, were “unworthy of life” fell victim to the racial madness of the so-called “Aktion T4”. Today Hartheim Castle is a warning memorial, with an exhibition entitled “The Value of Life” that is absolutely worth seeing.
The #US has blocked a statement, put forward by #Algeria and backed by all #UNSC’s 15 members except the US, to the #UN Security Council that would have condemned Israel for the killing of more than 100 Palestinians awaiting food aid in northern Gaza.
The US claimed it is trying to verify the “circumstances around how people died” to see if “we can find some language that everyone can agree on”.
This reminds me of the days after Saddam used chemical weapons against Halanbja in norther Iraq back in 1988, when US and UK used the EXACT same language to prevent the UN to condemn the attacks and blamed the "both sides" for the "loss of lives".
Back then the president was republican, now it's democract. So I guess, US foreign policy doesn't change much from the 2, when it comes to supporting "strategic" partners of US (at the time).

C'était en janvier 2021, et Hadopi (toujours vivante) nous ressortait une campagne de com bien claquée au sol… mais clairement pas au niveau d'Emma Leprince et du label PUR #NeverForget
