Just FYI, for people who write a lot with mechanical pens, check out the Kuru Toga line with rotating lead engine. Every time you lift up your pen the lead rotates slightly which keeps your lead relatively sharp to a point. They are also very affordable at <$20 on amazon.
Just a note, they are inexpensive so despite some of them looking like metal they are light and plastic. But they seem high quality and dont break easily.

I use the 0.7 with color #leads and the 0.3... very little ^^
I always preferred pencils to pens..
I guess I like the non-destructiveness, because when I don't use #pencils, I use #erasable pens XD in particular the #Frixion, they become #transparent with the raising of the #temperature ♨️
I used fountains on primary and maybe mid school.. I remember I liked them :) but only gel ones from high school up to today ^^

Ugh, I'm watching @penaddict 's Twitch stream recording on YT where he's going through the old Nock products and I'm bummed I don't have any of these (was not aware of the brand until after it was gone). Looks like several were held back due to QC issues, but they could be sold as seconds/imperfects...? I hate Twitter but, to be honest, Mastodon feels a lot lonelier. I like learning, books, mental models, pens, pencils, paper, notebooks, tools, knots, DIY, EDC, productivity advice, coffee, beer, software development, Tolkien, rucking, soccer, chilly weather, etc. Where are my people at??
Ages ago I tried sketching directly with a #pen - it was a super interesting (and difficult, for me) exercise, but then I started focusing on #pencils and limited colour palettes...
Well it dawned on me I could use one of those multicoloured pens and combine the two approaches 🤭
I did it! For the first time I have finished a ballpoint pen. It took ten months of occasional writing and almost 100 A5 pages written (both sides). Now I'm deciding to switch to pencils or use some other pens. #stationery#bic#ballpoint
@defanor At school and uni, ballpoint pens were not surviving that long on me before being lost or broken. I began making handwritten notes/journals in 2017 and used mostly #pencils and sometimes #fountainpens. So yeah, this is my first fully depleted ballpoint pen.
Funny thing, pencils are potentially more permanent than any types of pens — despite being erasable, pencil marks do not fade over time. So I'll probably return to using pencils for my notes.
