Vraiment ? 🤦‍♂️

I’ve been trying to watch Zack Snyder‘s latest cinematic poo and have had to take a break. It‘s bad. Very, very bad. I hope it gets better, I fear it will not.

Actually on second and third thoughts, Rebel Moon is like if someone super-glued tropes and themes from Lord of the Rings onto a Star Wars picture book. I'm probably going to be picking this apart in my own special way for about a week or two.

I just watched the teaser trailer for "Rebel Moon," on Netflix, and this is my reaction:"Zack Snyder Rips Off EVERYTHING!"

It's pretty. It's stylish. And every single bit of it seems stolen from some other well known movie or franchise. Star Wars, Dune, Avatar, You name it, chopped up like coarse sausage and squeezed into a glossy Zack Snyder skin.

Finally watching on . ‘Bout half an hour in, and… it’s telegraphing everything, isn’t it?

I guess check back here in another hour and a half for a spoiler-free LOL or OMG. 😆

#RebelMoon

Spending more than 5 minutes making spicy YouTube takedowns about Zak Syndrr’s films is like taunting clowns for their injudicious use of pies.

Zack Snyder’s take on sci-fi looks … meh. Lots of recycled imagery in that trailer from his other movies - Man of Steel and 300 stick out right away. Glowing swords that are reminiscent of Star Wars, but a dreary tone that is not reminiscent of Star Wars.

reviews are out and the best sentence I've read so far calls it "the cinematic equivalent of an NFT".

Do we need to know anything more at this point?

Watching Rebel Moon.

An hour in and my biggest issue with it so far? Character development appears to be delivered entirely through exposition.

The entire point of a movie is to develop the characters and tell a story they'd the movie. Exposition is lazy and boring.

Mooie beelden, gave special effects.

Watched from Netflix despite the very bad reviews from:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebel_Moon

Overwhelming pathos, extremely exaggerated bad guys (no women on the dark side as it seems) with not a single aspect to relate to.

Most obvious: lots of stuff from great films like (Akira ), , , ... and even .

You could play a drinking game: whoever spots a commonly accepted reference to a movie first doesn't have to drink, everybody else does.

One hour in to and…. it feels like a high school script with a big budget and average special effects / CGI.

Maybe it’s just me?

Pues hemos visto y...
Oye, ni tan mal. 👍
Fisher, Coleman y Nair 🤩🤯

Zack Snyder's"Rebel Moon" is an obviously terrible movie which I will never watch, but I'm really coming to appreciate its existence ... not for itself, but for the delightful terse reactions it's inspiring across my feeds:

"Like Star Wars was directed by a pair of Oakley sunglasses."

"Star Wars, The Chronicles of Riddick, and Firefly all smashed together. It was like when you mix all the soda flavors together."

"It feels like watching 350 little tik tok vignettes in a row."

The Rebel Moon movies are like watching someone else play a video game.

They're visually distinctive - everything looks cool - and there are plenty of exposition dumps that would work fine as cut scenes. Players could unlock new POV characters as Kora progresses through the story with Gunnar, assembling her magnificent 7 space samurai. The predictable, cliche story wouldn't be nearly as irritating if you could be immersed in it, rather than just watching it.
