"In early 2023, Evil Genius Games began working with Netflix and the acclaimed director Zack Snyder on developing a Rebel Moon TTRPG. ... Unfortunately, after delivering this unbelievable world and tabletop role-playing game to Netflix, it canceled the contract and is asserting the IP we created, along with the entire game, now belongs to it. Netflix also refused to compensate us fairly for our work."

The only way I can describe this movie ... it's like I've seen the highlights from every sci-fi or fantasy movie made in the last 4 decades has been badly jammed together.
Can't wait for the next in the series. LOL

Zack Snyder sure does have a thing for Hero Jump At Bad, doesn't he

it's a genre scifi film with a budget, of course I'll watch it, but I expect it to have a hot garbage story with a terrible Jesus analogy because it's Snyder

Just finished watching and it's hard to express just how bad it is. The thinnest veneer of Star Wars and Warhammer 40K, wrapped around 100 unoriginal ideas and platitudes, then stuffed to bursting with a super-sized serving of mediocre slow motion fight scenes.

review: First things first--I'm probably kinder to than a lot of people because I love DC Comics and he used to be the steward of its movie universe. I do think it's unfortunate that it's become extremely hard to judge this director's work on its own merits because of his rabid "cult", and the endless comparisons of his product with the Marvel movies, which many people still view with rose-tinted glasses, even though a good number of them are schlock. Stop washing out every GD scene, Snyder. There are more colors than Brown, Grey, Blue and Red.

Tried to watch Rebel Moon last night but the extreme violence of an oppressive government and military over defenseless people was too hard to watch. I’ve been watching this happen for nearly 90 days in real life. I do not need it as a form of entertainment.

There are two flicks that I really like: Dawn of the Dead and, specially, Sucker Punch (sue me). Overall I generally like his visual flair, but his projects tend to be really hit and miss, IMO. And when he misses, he really does. Case in point: the AliExpress Star Wars palimpsest that is , or what you'll find in the dictionary when you search "sh*tshow".

Behind the Alien Alphabets of Rebel Moon

Read @louie’s fascinating behind-the-scenes of how he got involved in the production and created four entirely original alien alphabets for their unique languages and writing systems—totaling over twenty individual fonts and hundreds of bespoke characters.

A ton of opening narration to Rebel Moon. To me, that's rarely a good sign.

ferricoxide,

Do actors see scripted dialogue like this and try to get the laughter out of their system before they get to the set?

The Rebel Moon movies are like watching someone else play a video game.

They're visually distinctive - everything looks cool - and there are plenty of exposition dumps that would work fine as cut scenes. Players could unlock new POV characters as Kora progresses through the story with Gunnar, assembling her magnificent 7 space samurai. The predictable, cliche story wouldn't be nearly as irritating if you could be immersed in it, rather than just watching it.

Just now getting to Rebel Moon Part 2. Movie has some weird ass cinematic choices. I'm only 30 minutes in and so far I've watched about 10 minutes of people collecting grain and drinking water. Scythefi?

Also did second unit forget how to focus a lens or...half this movie looks like it has vaseline all over it.
