Silver inlaid on an early iron spearhead, found in a burial at Wurmlingen, dating late 6th c. AD. The inscription reads DORIH - Dorich, a male name, probably the name of the owner or the blacksmith.

A couple of 11th century runic spell amulets found at Köpingsvik invoke Christ and the Virgin Mary on behalf of a woman named Oluv. She is being threatened by ”the roaring giant”, ”the three-headed giant” and ”the unmanly/homosexual giant”.

@si_fuller These healing runic spells always blame illness on supernatural beings. On the Ribe skull fragment from 725-750 it's a dwarf. Sometimes it's elfs.

Sometimes @dev_ric is a bit lovely. He commissioned this for me and got it on a bag (shown here) and a poster. It's Murray the demonic skull from with hands, and other bits and pieces I like.

I'm new to witchcraft, very slowly learning as it's hard for me to read, and I'm especially new to runes. Been wanting to combine a protection & healing rune together to help with my health, but can't figure out how to combine them so it feels right. Any thoughts?

Aaaaaanyway here's how if you're interested. https://josh.is-cool.dev/running-runes-locally-with-svelte-5-pre-release-alpha/

The Heidentempel " temple" is a rock in Tecklenburg (North Rhine-Westphalia/ . It has been speculated that this site was used as a pagan sanctuary. Two niches have been cut into the rock wall. According to local legends, a sacrificial knife lay in the smaller one, while the bowl to collect the blood from the sacrificed animal lay in the bigger one. Several of unknown age can be seen. A mysterious queen named Thyra who lived during the Viking era may have been one of the founders of what is now Denmark.

Queen Thyra, the mother of King Harald Bluetooth, was commemorated on four commemorative runestones in different parts of Denmark – suggesting she was a powerful figure.
