Garden table restoration. This old folding table got smashed by a flying chair last autumn. I didn't have anything matching the original resin plate, but I did have a lot of wood packing spacers.

But they're all angled and vary in thickness. So I nailed them together, punched the nails down and then planed the planks.

Yes, a thickness planer would be lovely to have, but this worked. Some leftover wood stain and it looks nice.

An idea laid out on the workbench - strips of wood packing spacers with small gaps between.
One assembled half of the new table top. The spacers have been nailed to three supports, the nails punched further in so a handplane can level the uneven tops. Plane shavings are piling up on the workbench.
The finished table, prettier than ever before, unfolded and standing proudly in the garden again, defying the four heavy plastic chairs that surround it and smashed a hole in it during a storm last year. The dark oak stain makes it look rather fancy and hides the fact that he's made from scavenged pinewood scraps.

FormatJS: We support "number skeletons", which include currencies.
ICU: Number skeletons also include units!

Is anyone aware of a German mobile carrier which fully supports Apple Watch?

(Congstar don’t, and I can’t work out if it’s a technical limitation and they can’t do it at all or if it’s for market segmentation reasons—they only offer support for on-contract customers.)

Coffee for two

Wondering if anyone in the fediverse has a suggestion for this

I have this beautiful table that I picked up at a second hand store

it is vaguely diamond shaped. I was wondering if someone might have a crochet pattern where I could make a lace doily type thing in a rounded diamond shape.

I would be putting it on the table and under a Lego dried flower piece.

I used to crochet a lot, making stuffed animals and lace doilies. It has been decades since I have done anything intricate but I want to try to do this.
