SR 410 Chinook Pass is closed to traffic eastbound at milepost 57 near Crystal Mountain Boulevard, 12 miles west of the summit. Westbound traffic is closed at milepost 74.5 Morse Creek, 5 miles east of the summit. Clearing efforts are underway, but crews discovered two washouts both east and west of Chinook Pass summit. Repairs are in progress. No estimate for reopening, although crews typically reopen each year around Memorial Day. Updates will be provided as information is available.

This creator makes a great point. I support restoring the names of the Cascade peaks to their original names—for justice but also because they are generally superior names.

Little Colorado River V

One of the biggest suprise to me occurred on day 3 of our trip through the Grand Canyon when we came across the Little Colorado River.
The crystal clear turqouise water cascaded down over ledges and rocks as the water made it's way downstream flowing into The Colorado River. See the full image here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/little-colorado-river-v-bill-gallagher.html

Made it onto the . I got lucky, but Amtrak is the best.

Because North America deprioritized passanger rail, they made it for freight first, people second. This makes it slow, in so much that passanger travel has to work around other cargo. Nonetheless, at a not particularly significant price jump over the bus, customer service is magnitudes better than that option. And if something strands you regarding the train, the rail line will get you there, using their own buses if need be.

Getting to the Moon River Waterfalls is sometimes quite tricky depending on the water level. On this day we managed to boat to this spot on the river as beyond this point was too treacherous for the boat. The water levels were quite high and the falls were wild.

I found an old and very faded color slide of my and I hiking in the sometime in the early to mid 1970s. I tried to take a picture of the slide with my phone. It's the best I could do. This picture would have been from a trip either in the Three Sisters Wilderness or the Mount Jefferson Wilderness.
