Auroras is the theme for this week, so here is another of the Cascade mountains. Mount Hood which is located it Oregon and one of the Cascade volcanoes.

A beautiful city, with fabulous architecture and endless history, there are endless photo opportunities here, especially in that golden hour.
Sunlight breaks through the clouds to highlight the snowy peak in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, creating a striking contrast between the illuminated and shadowed areas. Below, a silhouette of evergreen trees stands against the glowing horizon, accentuating the beauty of the winter landscape.

Suddenly there are flowers everywhere in the woods, new blossoms to attract the pollinators but some like up hide in the shadows - maybe a little shy at how pretty they are.

The hike itself is not incredible, some very nice views on the river, wonderful forest and impressive suspended bridges (pics to follow), but the 16km feel long sometimes. The reward, however, is absolutely amazing: comfortable hut in the middle of the mountains and forest, no touristic planes and helicopters to ruin the vibe (quite rare in NZ), natural hot pools and and stargazing just next to the hut. A great capture the other day, I was out looking for baby foxes but managed to get this deer family outing.
We have dad and mum with 2 kids bringing up the rear, so lovely to see 🙂
