Last night, I used Redact to delete all my comments, then altered the settings to make an exception for one and only one subreddit. To check if I even had comments left in that subreddit, I kept an eye on my comments through Infinity. At first the comments were being deleted one by one, then suddenly it showed a "No comments...

So, just ~10 daily active developers are developing and maintaining a world class desktop like @kde. Good perspective about how good job they are actually doing. I wonder how big Windows and macOS desktop teams are.

It would be a major waste of resources to immediately try & replicate every single paper suspected of fraud or any kind of mishandling. Replication is not a tool for debunking or reconciliation or a substitute for scientific reasoning. Take it from Gelman (if it's more palatable that way): "If a study is strong, it makes sense to try to replicate it. If a study is weak, why bother?"

So I started a mild side quest on Andrew Gelmans blog, where they are discussing Trump and politicians and started discussing deficit spending and such. I wrote several long posts describing how I think deficit spending drove inequality through amplifying the money supply and concentrating it into the hands of wealthy capitalists. For everyone upset that the #SupremeCourt decided to take up #Trumps immunity case and not just accept the Appellate court's decision that he is not immune because you are being told it will delay the Jan 6 trial, likely due to the court being Trumpian, just calm down, take a breath, and read this.
Afterward, you might actually consider that maybe this was a great decision by the court.
Sometimes I wonder whether it's worth having comments turned on, because people don't tend to comment much any more. Then someone comes leaves a comment like this and I remember.

I noticed my disk storage went drastically low and I started to check system, then I realized something ( #macos update???) enabled iCloud Photos synchronization to my Mac (that can take all the storage it get, and for that very reason I didn't enable it on my mac)

oh, wow, there really was such a thread, only 2 years ago, but, hilariously, I argued against the idea, although most of my objections had to do with things other than eusociality.
