This is a totally amazing performance taking Daft Punk's electronica masterpiece and executing it as an orchestral masterpiece.

This is the kind of things Humans should be doing; Music, Art, Science, not fighting, killing and tearing down society.

John Mastodon didn't have to stay up all night to get lucky, but he did anyway. He really enjoyed the groove.

Something that could make me appreciate the "star" feature in Files more: having starred items pinned to the top of search results. That would distinguish its featureset from the bookmarks system, for me.

Since toggling star status in ' ListView does a little spinning ⭐️ animation, I think "Nautilus' Interstella 5555: The 5tory of the 5tar 5earch 5ystem" would make a great OAV with some music. Would watch. https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/3189

Woah, released a drumless version of Random Access Memories, and it is kinda remarkable. All the songs still sound great and are just a tad more chill. https://youtu.be/nwWVxPaOdN4?si=tv03gHQ8vWZmIsnS

Random Access Memories (Drumless Edition) dropped today. I'm a few songs in and a lot of the subtle details are more easily heard, which is always a little exciting. Where's the energy though!? It's sort of in this uncanny valley between chill music and the funk that vanilla RAM offered.

Another day, another reminiscence on Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories." This time it's Pharrell Williams talking about the making of "Get Lucky" and "Lose Yourself to Dance," including footage of him hearing the finished tracks for the first time.

Daft Punk has been celebrating the tenth anniversary of "Random Access Memories" all year. The latest release is a drumless version of the album. Listen to "Within" here.

The music in Tron: Legacy by Daft Punk really helped define the experience for that movie. It would be amazing to apply the same treatment to a Star Wars movie. Bar scenes in places like Mos Eisley Cantina could be elevated to a whole new level. Disney owns Tron and Star Wars, so maybe someone will make this happen at some point. I'd definitely got a Star Wars themed party with this kind of music.

"Daft Punk intended to make a video for the song "Human After All", but the footage they shot for it was expanded to create the film Daft Punk's Electroma instead.

The only official statement given by Daft Punk at the time was: "We believe that Human After All speaks for itself".

De Homem-Christo later said that choosing to be silent was the biggest mistake they had ever made."

Video credit to Thermometer10

"The two lead characters appear as the robotic forms of Daft Punk. One wears a silver helmet and the other wears a golden one. An opening scene shows the duo driving in a 1987 Ferrari 412 with its license plate displaying "HUMAN". After passing through a Southwestern United States landscape, the duo arrives by car at a town in Inyo County, California. The town's residents are also shown to be robots physically identical to the two main characters, but at different ages, with different clothing and alternating gender. The pair drive to a high-tech facility where liquid latex is poured over their heads. The latex is shaped into human-like faces with the aid of prosthetic appliances and wigs. The resulting look caricaturizes the members of Daft Punk, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. When the two leave the facility, the locals of the town are shocked by their human appearance. The townsfolk gradually begin to chase the duo, whose faces eventually melt in the sun. The two take cover in a public restroom where the gold robot discards his ruined mask, then encourages the reluctant silver robot to do the same. Exiting the restroom they appear as robots again."

NAFO_69th_Sniffing_Brigade,

@ixi there isn’t just a single piece Daft Punk produced, that doesn’t connect with me. I love every single thing they made. It’s a 💯 % connection. That the 2 dudes where there, doing what they did, is 1 of the things I’m very grateful for. And of course it needed to end at a certain point. Obviously. And the end didn’t make me sad. I’m full of happiness and I am thankful, that they where there, and shared the music with me. Thanks !
