I was cleaning up my desktop and found these stacked exposures of fireflies that I captured in 2019, but I'm not sure I ever shared anywhere. I didn't think they were any good, but now I see how beautiful these photos are even with their flaws. #photography#fireflies#NightPhotography
Sriram Murali showcases a night sky and a forest illuminated with fireflies. The firefly flashes start at twilight, with just a few, before the frequency increases and they pulse in unison like a wave across the forest. Fireflies, which are in fact beetles, are famous for attracting mates using bioluminescence.

Female fireflies park themselves close to the ground and signal to the dancing male fireflies flying overhead. At the end of the video, you can see her flash her butt suggestively. 😘
Been trying to capture this on video for a while now. Triumph. 🥰
"More than 170 species of Lampyridae, or light-emitting beetles, light up North America's nights. But some species are threatened with extinction. Habitat loss, overuse of pesticides, climate change and increased light pollution threaten some fireflies."
