@sewing Who doesn't love starting the day off with wearing a new me-made garment?!?! This is the Tinsley dress from Made for Mermaids. I left off the built-in shorts and shelf bra this time #sewing#handDyed
@sewing This is my wearable muslin of the Bella Frock by LydiaNaomi. The only changes I made was a 1" FBA and 0.5" petite adjustment. Head's up, this dress is really short and I'm only 5ft exactly. This version will be worn over leggings and I will add some length to future ones. #sewing#garmentsewing#handDyed
“Sonoran Stones” is my new batch of hand dyed tatting/crochet thread just listed in my Etsy shop. The colors were inspired by the stones on a trail I walked along during a recent visit to the Sonoran desert near Phoenix, Arizona. #handdyed#earthtones#desert#handdyedthread#fiberarts#crafts
@tiedye I have been reading up on how to compensate for cooler air temps and have added urea to my dye mix. I used 16oz of dye-namite and 16oz maroon. In the smaller bin, I'm trying a new hemostat pattern. I am not sure how it will turn out because it's a grey top, instead of white, that I haven't worn since I made it. #lowImmersionDyeing#handdyed
@tiedye I overdyed this with procion orchid with an 1/8tsp of better black for a cooler toned purple. I was concerned that overdyeing it would cover up all the lovely splits but this came out great! #handdyed#slowFashion
Good morning, lovely people! I am feeling much better today. Getting COVID within a couple months of a booster was so much easier than last time (last year I got it right before my scheduled booster) but I'm still taking it easy because I know true recovery can take a long time. On the book, walkies, finish my jumper/pinafore, get some fabric in the dye bath. #today#sewing#weekendsSewingClub#handdyed
Wore this dress for tabletop yesterday, one of my faves! Sewn from beige cotton lycra jersey, and ice dyed over with geodes! This one always reminds me of an ocean with islands. #sewing@sewing#icedye#handdyed#tiedye#memadeeveryday
@tiedye I know a good artist doesn't blame their tools, but I am more "still working out my techniques" than blaming my tools. I am surprised at how much white there is. There was quite a bit of liquid dye sitting at the bottom of the bins that I used. I think the bins are too small for the amount of fabric so that the dye couldn't get all the way through. I'm going to have to overdye them but one at a time. Doing 3 different color ways was too much. #lowImmersionDyeing#handDyed@fiberarts
Hoping for a blocking miracle with this one, the single ply Merino looks so... messy, even though I know I have nice tension. Not so much with this I guess.

@tiedye I am finally using the dye journal I bought months ago and taking notes. Two of these are earthy, muted tones WAY out of my comfort zone. #tieDye#handDyed
@tiedye I initially dyed this in violet shades but there was more white than I liked so I overdye it. Despite using the same formula, it came out much warmer and I don't know why. #lowImmersionDyeing#handdyed
