I did some art style experiments lately. I wanted a style that was simple to draw, but still looking both retro and modern at the same time. :blobfox3c: I was struggling with my usual retro/"Disney-like" style, so this newer style's anatomy is easier for me to draw. Working on a dress pattern pieces. I've raised the neckline because it's going to be lined and the original had a neckband. Drew overlapping fronts for button closure. Added curved princess seams, and seam allowance along that line.
Still need to make a puffed at cap sleeve out of a regular one, then gathered and circle skirts are easy, and then I could see if it fits into 'fabric' rectangles. Merciless pattern editing ;) #inkscape#sewing

OK going to work on my comic a whole bunch more today! Brain is maybe not as into it but a tiny bit of slow work is all I'm going for today.
I'm way behind so I skipped even starting the art in favour of moving forward in the #StorytellingCollective workshop. I can see the 6 week schedule is not realistic for me in the long run but hopefully I can find the energy to manage it this once >_<
oo I'm just one thing behind now! It's doing the main character art. I'm not going to quite do it as described, which is to just draw the main characters. I'm going to instead make different body parts that I can just copy paste and reuse for all the people with only small modifications.

Don't underestimate Open Source Software! I just undid 100s of changes to a design in @inkscape (#Inkscape), with no crashing, and no issue.
Not only that, but I was able to save a copy of the file first (File > Save A Copy...) and then revert and save the original. This is different from a simple "Save As" that you might find in other software, because it doesn't change the file your actively working on.
I finished my cute dream foxy knight character design. I hope you all enjoy it. 🙂 I might start drawing in this art style from now on, as it brings me peace and comfort. :blobCat_blanket:

We need #FLOSS tools to get to the point where they can replace Adobe tools. Open alternatives are great, but they are sadly not there yet to replace Adobe tools for professionals.
And won't be unless projects like @inkscape get enough funding to develop to a point of being viable alternatives.
@rysiek@inkscape for me #inkscape is the clear winner when a clean SVG is required. The ones generated by Adobe Illustrator are hot garbage even beyond repair

I'm a non-pro.
Last year I migrated my photo catalog from Adobe Photoshop Elements, via Lightroom classic to get more metadata (in particulare face tagging) migrated, over to digiKam. For that purpose, FOSS #digiKam works well. I also try it for editing. In addition, I have started to explore and use FOSS #RawTherapee for editing and will likely add FOSS #GIMP (I have used it now and then). A few times FOSS #Inkscape. I still use non-FOSS AfterShot but will likely end that.

I am a graphic & web designer in SoCal. I hail from the #GooglePlus system (where I was a Google+ Creator and the "Star Wars guy" there...) . I've been a social media nomad since after the Empire destroyed it back in 2018. RIP :(
I'm also a #StarWars fan and I've been using #Linux since the 90s. I tinker with #Inkscape, #gimp, #digikam, and #darktable for my photo and graphics needs. I jumped on #GooglePlus from Day 1, where I had a nice little community that I learned a lot from.

Ho appena scoperto che con #Inkscape è possibile usare font NON INSTALLATI (quindi nessun bisogno di sovraccaricarsi la memoria per installare font che si useranno una volta sola).
Nel caso non ve lo avesse detto nessunә (e non ci foste arrivatә da solә): menu "Modifica - Preferenze -Strumenti - Testo - Cartelle Font Aggiuntivi" e ci mettete il path completo delle cartelle in cui tenete i caratteri.
Ora non avete più scuse per usare il font sbagliato!

Has written an OpenSCAD cycle. It's a marvellously simple language and I'd argue that it would make a good first language for kids. Simple, visual, with printable results, what's not to like?

PNGs are not uploaded yet but it's trivial to download the SVG and convert them to PNG using #Inkscape. We strongly recommend PNG for #TorBrowser users who cannot view SVG.
