We are working on multiple new features, one of them, the WebApps for Windows, Linux and Mac, a functionality that will be very useful for our LibreOffice Online instances integrated with Astian Cloud and a very interesting productivity suite. Coming soon
2nd: Is your computer/notebook and your printer etc. well supported by #Linux? Check the internet for it.
3rd: After switching: Look first for software in the distribution repositories and not on the websites of the projects. Install it from the distribution if available.
In LibreOffice, in the "View" menu, when "Field Shadings" is checked, non-breaking spaces (NBSP) appear grayed out, but narrow no-break spaces (NNBSP) do not. Is it possible to make narrow no-break spaces appear grayed out as well? And if yes, how ?
Noticed a redirect loop on the help.libreoffice.org website, but failed to find an appropriate address or page to report it (except for Bugzilla, which requires an account, and I see no "project" for the website there). Noticed a Mastodon contact though, maybe this will work. Or maybe somebody on Mastodon will point to an appropriate place to report #LibreOffice website issues? Either way, it should be better to write here than to ignore.
As another minor website issue report, icons are broken if pages are not allowed to set custom fonts. Some contrast ratios (e.g., in the footer) are very low, some elements (e.g., operating system choice on the "download" page) do not fit into the areas dedicated for them and overflow awkwardly if minimum font size is set (to 16, for instance). Some content (e.g., on <https://www.libreoffice.org/discover/templates-and-extensions/>) is simply unavailable with JS off, while with JS on it is just hidden behind an unnecessary click.
Cleaned up my #Xfce menu, surprised I hadn't added the settings apps to the settings manager since I last wiped. Also, will be forever confused as to why applications in 'settings' don't automatically get added to the settings manager. Found a few old packages I could remove, including most of #libreoffice as I only use Calc and Writer.
I have often wondered why #LibreOffice isn't more popular. Today I tried a very simple design with #Impress. Basically three rounded rectangles with texts of different alignments. Really nothing fancy.
I gave up in frustration after 20 minutes when rendered text alignments would not match the object's settings no matter what I try.
For a relatively new #foss project, I would start writing bug reports. For something as mature as LibreOffice, if such basic features don't work, it's not for me.
