#India’s early #election results point to rebuke for #Modi & his party

Indian voters appeared to deliver an unexpected repudiation of PM Narendra Modi’s leadership as early vote tallies on Tues showed tepid support for his #Hindu #nationalist party, piercing the air of invincibility around the most dominant Indian #politician in decades.

Tho votes were still being counted Tues afternoon & the Modi-led could still form the govt, it was projected to fall short of its showing in 2014, when swept to on a wave of national over , or 2019, when buoyed by sentiment over a border clash w/ . Such a result would be rare for the politician who has never failed to secure a majority in a 23+yr political career & cultivates an image as a & a serial winner.

"Do you see what is happening? Do you? Congressmen and women are going to New York for Trump to undermine our justice system and push MAGA to reject a guilty verdict.

Now they’re going after Merrick Garland…the US AG.

The coup is in motion. It never really stopped, but it’s running wide open.

They are conditioning the cult followers to cease believing that our judicial system…or our government, period…has any legitimacy. They are training them to reject law and order…and to disregard anyone but Trump and/or other MAGA leaders.

It’s all happening right now.

This…is not a drill."

It's even more baffling because the Tokyo version of the game uses the union jack to signify the language.

Remember folks, are bad at being icons for language selection as they have meanings.

Revealed: US professor Scott Yenor
was behind extremist site that spread conspiracies

Boise State University (BSU) professor and scholar was the hidden hand behind , a far-right online media platform that featured inflammatory rightwing commentary on politics in that state, documents obtained by the Guardian reveal.
The documents, obtained through public records requests, also show that 💥Yenor sought and received funding for the initiative from wealthy and influential donors like Claremont Institute board chair, Thomas D .💥

He also attempted to hire a rising conservative writer, , to lead the initiative.
Gonzalez was later embroiled in a controversy about remarks he made in online chats in 2019 and 2020.

They also show him tapping a network of expertise that overlaps both with the Claremont Institute and the Society for American Civic Renewal ( ), a secretive fraternal organization the Guardian has reported on extensively.

Yenor has not publicly disclosed his involvement in Action Idaho, and it has only been fleetingly mentioned in previous reporting on Talking Points Memo. The revelations could raise further questions about the potential conflicts between Yenor’s professorial position at a public university and his political activism.

At a recent political rally, President Trump announced that he was a "nationalist" and encouraged his audience to do the same. Since then, liberals have engaged in all sorts of rhetorical gymnastics to exaggerate their differences from Trump. Keep the following points in mind:

1). Nationalism is not limited to the overt racism espoused by the Ku Klux Klan, the Skinheads, or the Nazis. When ordinary Americans discuss global politics and invoke the pronoun "we" - they are often juxtaposing themselves to a foreign "they" who is typically poor, non-white, non-male, and non-citizen. Therefore, nationalism is not a deviation from Western governance; it is a core principle which shapes the collective sense of being and belonging.

2). Here is a quick, non-exhaustive "Am I a Nationalist?" checklist:

  • Do you believe that the United States military keeps you safe from harm?

  • Do you believe that U.S. intervention is necessary to ensure world peace?

  • Do you believe in the need for a strong national border?

  • Do you believe that non-citizens are "criminals" who "cheat the system"?

  • Do you believe that capitalism works?

If you answered "yes" to one or more of these questions, you are a nationalist. There is only a difference of degree between you and Trump.

3). Nationalism involves the violence of dividing the entire world into several arbitrary pieces. We are then told to be "patriotic" and pledge allegiance to the nearest piece ... because it is "superior" to all the other pieces who threaten our sense of peace. We must remember that "nations" are a product of politics, NOT nature. The "border" between the United States and Mexico disappears from a bird's eye view. National borders are fictional.

4). The oppressed vastly outnumber their oppressors - a fact which frightens those in power. To prevent global solidarity among the downtrodden, the ruling class promotes a nationalist agenda to drive a wedge between everyone. Nationalism is a "divide and conquer" strategy which forces us to fight each other as opposed to our common enemy. This is why Marx said "the worker has no country" and "workers of the world, unite!"

Those who do not see through this are in principle open to any radicalization.
