That one time an Acquia sales rep cold called the founder the WordPress, and described Acquia as "the Red Hat of Drupal."

That's funny on about 4 different levels.

I spoke about superfans, why companies should want to create and develop relationships with their biggest fans, and why those fans might become their biggest and advantage.

I also shared a personal love story between me, the superfan, and @SparkToro, my favorite B2B company.

"Ad blockers are unethical—ads are how they pay to keep the lights on!”

Exactly. It's how THEY pay to keep the lights on. It's not how I pay for anything. I didn't agree to see ads, although I'm ok with some ads; what I definitely didn't do is agree to be tracked and profiled and have arbitrary third-party code running on my computer just so I could read this awful, pointless, SEO-ified shitfest of an article that doesn't come close to answering the question I was googling.

I am not opposed to all forms of sales and advertising, but let’s be clear:

Being marketed to is not part of the social contract.

Uhhm may some of you please help me to remove some of these games from my cart? :nkoHehe:
I am at ~360€ now (with 40 items) and want to get down to somewhere between 20-50€, so I don't spend too much money on games I may actually play... :blobcatgiggle:

Side-info: I may also be getting a and mainly game on so games running nicely on one of those platforms are definitely preferred...

Final Fantasy 16 Sells 3m Copies Worldwide: Not Terrible But Not Great: https://www.eurogamer.net/final-fantasy-16-sells-3m-copies-worldwide

HOW TO MAKE MILLIONS OF DOLLARS
When you mount a TV to the wall with any standard mounting bracket, part of the TV sound is transferred to the wall. The wall behaves like any speaker diaphragm. The wall vibrates and the sound is audible in the next room.

To make millions of dollars, develop a cost-comparable TV mounting bracket with shock absorbers - a vibration damping system - that prevents the wall from becoming a pass-through speaker.

I can't enforce payment, because I'm publishing this on the Internet, but if you want to be a decent sort, I suggest paying me 1% of your profits for the first two years.

Thanks in advance.

I get a lot of marketing emails from infosec vendors. I believe most reach-outs are automated, since I am not a lucrative lead at all. Nevertheless - here’s my shortlist of sales tactics that would actually work for me.

  1. Build a good product. Get a trustworthy person on your advisory board and let them speak highly of you on social media or podcast. Your product is validated through them putting their credibility on the line.
  2. Assume I understand technology and risk. Hell, I’ve spent a quarter-century doing this shit already. ”Relying on existing measures is no longer sufficient” is an actual example from this week that absolutely doesn’t convey that assumption.
  3. I know you have sales targets to meet, and I don’t want you to waste time on someone who is just exploring. I’d just want to know what the product does (technically, not in the abstract), and if it sounds right, read the product docs.

May your sales figures bloom!
