Taken at the former #Fiat#factory in #Torino - #Lingotto Construction of the #building started in 1916, Inauguration was in 1923. The design by the young architect Giacomo Matté-Trucco was unusual in that it had five floors, with raw materials going in at the ground floor, and cars built on a line that went up through the building. Finished cars emerged at rooftop level to go onto the 1.5km long test track.
#Italiano#Torino
Great overview of @pluralistic's current thoughts on what's wrong with the web and what we can do about it.
His list of solutions which include 1. competition, 2. labor, 3. interoperability, and 4. end user computing lays out a holistic path for the years ahead.
Happy to have been in the audience for this talk here in #torino.
Going through some old photos of Turin this time, I noticed I took pretty much the same photo as I did in Milan https://pixelfed.social/i/web/post/688284367745626708
Apparently I'm fascinated by these glass roofs and domes without even knowing 😁
