Below is a wonderful chart that helps folks understand fetal development. There are times I want to have it painted on sandwich board, so I can wear it everywhere I go.

I've given birth to a full-term baby; had an abortion; suffered a miscarriage. The least violent of the 3 was most assuredly the abortion. +

I’m adopted. I was born in August & literally seconds after I was born, I was separated from my mother. I was shipped off to foster care, & in November, I was “placed” w/ my adopters. When my adoption was finalized 7 mos later, my original birth certificate was amended to consist of lies—the original (accurate) doc was sealed & hidden away, & the amended (lies lies lies) version replaced it as my legal, official document. The only one I was ever supposed to see. +

Please read this #adoption agency's response to my question (posed on Xitter a cpl of yrs ago). You'll notice that in their answer to, "what is a successful adoption," the #adoptee wasn't considered or mentioned. Interesting, no? I've asked that same question of 31 agencies (so far). Never once has a response included the adoptee. Never ONCE. Sooooo very telling.

🧵 My #pregnancy was 9 mos of MISERY--so much vomiting (24/7) that I lost weight my 1st 4.5 mos. Hypotension--always on the verge of fainting. 36 hrs of nightmarish labor; 10+ lb baby that almost killed me. Chronic health problems to this day (I'm 62) directly resulting from #childbirth . The report hasn’t actually been signed off on or released yet, but Lab Corp put it in their portal for the Halo Imaging doc … & that means I have it, too! I think the hemosiderin-laden macrophages are from my lung issues. Why that would show up in my thyroid, I do not know—& also, since they’re not being caused by cancer, I’m wondering if my thyroid symptoms indicate Graves? I don’t know. I guess I will once they release the report to my doc & I speak with/ her.

My adopters starved me, too. & despite the fact that I was CLEARLY malnourished, no one ever tried to help me. Why not? Because society has been taught to believe adopters are saviors & saints. But abusive adoptive parents are not uncommon. That “better life” trope needs to be yeeted into the sun—when you give up your child to #adoption , you’re abandoning them to an utter crapshoot, & if they are eventually neglected, abused, &/or even murdered, it’s unlikely you’ll even know. #AdopteeVoices
