The Mawddach estuary. Once home to small shipbuilding yards (southern side) and gold mining (north side). Not that you’d know it now.

Couldn’t resist this cheeky robin for my Daily #Wales in winter (there are hills in the mirror, though they look miles away) - and it’s also a #FensterFreitag, if you count the car window. This is a beach car park, the dunes held back by that wall, and it’s hugely busy in season; the birds are dauntless in search of extra treats (they get plenty).

Daily #Wales in winter, and high tide (with added floodwater, I cannot think where all that extra water came from) on the Mawddach estuary.

The white building across the estuary is the George III, for anyone who knows the area, and the Penmaenpool toll bridge is just visible to its left.

Huh. Just paid my tax - I wouldn’t mind so much if I felt it was going to say, the NHS ✊. Instead I suspect- based on previous evidence - it’s just going to end up in the greasy hands of Tory donors, Tory mates, someone a Tory MP once met in a pub.

Daily #Wales in winter today is also a #FensterFreitag, a #WindowFriday and my kitchen window (yes, the house is built into a hill, quite a steep one, hence the kitchen window being at footpath level). This is about as ‘good’ as snow gets this close to the coast…

Daily #Wales in winter from a frosty dog walk (snow no; black ice, yup arrggghhh).

This is Ffridd Rasus, ‘race field’ - loosely - which was, once upon a time, a racetrack. Then a WW2 military camp, now a tangle of birch and pine woods behind the tip. I do like a poetic location. So does Not My Labrador. Sniff potential off the chart.
