Rivian's R2, R3 & R3X launch event in 5

Rivian has been promising to make a smaller, more affordable electric SUV that will sit alongside pricier R1T and R1S vehicles. The R2 won’t go into production until 2026, but when it does it will come w/ estimated range of 330 miles, a 0–60mph time of 3 seconds, & a starting price of $45K. We also saw the R3 the R2’s “sibling,” & the R3X, the R3’s performance trim which has a wider stance & smaller crossover shape.

@FlyVapen_Pikk That's impossible. The server for your instance may be experiencing some issues. But, is made up of thousands of servers. Mine, kolektiva, is just fine.

Hey @georgetakei — can we get an Oh My?

is a new tool to name and shame the big oil polluters. It’s in space now. You can play with the data.

Feeling strange tingly feelings right now. I think I need to take a cold shower.

I’m noticing increased drive by commenting on here. Which, if you’re commenting on a cat pic? Sure, no problem.

But when someone toots on important topic and it’s been boosted and favorited a ton? That’s your clue to actually dive into the threads and see what’s going on.

Please, please, please don’t just drive by “react” to these posts. Your “reaction” is likely already discussed in the threads and it is terribly frustrating to back and address the duplicate comments — which have to be addressed lest someone else come by and see the unaddressed reaction and further react.

This destroys productive group idea generating discussion. Please digest the discussions and provide thoughtful replies based on what has been said in whole.

This isn’t twitter. We do better here. It’s ours. Please take the time to treat it with the respect it deserves.

I just learned threw money at a republican to try and take out in the Feinstein seat run-off.

Establishment will always shiv someone to their left before someone to their right.

Really makes me want to vote for them.

Serious question, please boost for reach.

I’m a 50+ white male.

How many old white guys out there would be willing join a 501(c)(3) whose mission is to oppose old white guys in positions of power? How many people would be willing to provide financial support for the same?

Nothing like this currently exists in the U.S. and I think it could be a damn effective form of protest. Personally, I’m sick and tired of seeing old fucking white guys in power everywhere I turn. Am I an aberration?

Oh, and despite thinking of myself as a bit of wordsmith, I’m admittedly terrible at acronym generation. What’s a good name for an organization pursuing said mission?

Ironic when advocates assure us safeguards are in place to contain any malicious turn of events — when we live every single day reminded of our impotence to solve the simple questions like, say, how to safeguard ourselves against hackers and spam calls.

Just because people tell you you’re brilliant in one small domain of life, doesn’t mean you aren’t stupid as rocks at all the others. Looking at you, .

The District Court just dropped it's opinion on my 6 day long well-drilling trial.

$56k for my clients and grant to apply for atty fees and costs. We won on the Consumer Protection Act in the main, which statutorily awards fees to the prevailing party.

Chalk one up for the good guys. Another dirty business off the street.

Pretty sure needs to kick the living shit out of humanity at least two or three times before we internalize Aldo Leopold's sufficiently for humanity to live sustainably on this planet.

Sorry folks.
We just don't cut the evolutionary mustard. Carrying capacity is a harsh master.

I wish your family's genes good luck in the coming

Any true crime podcast lovers out there?

Are you ready to be jelly?

I got listen to keynote speaker Laura Richards of the “Crime Analyst” and “Real Crime Profile” podcasts at a domestic violence conference today. These are her side gigs. She profiles for Scotland Yard and the London Metro Police in the main.

She presents tomorrow as well on her recent book called “Murder in Slow Motion.” She focuses there on all the DV/IPV signs that are ALWAYS present (if you know to look for them) prior to domestic homicides.

Her work has reduced DV murder by taking perps off the street prior before they kill their partners, saving the city of London over 30 million annually in investigative costs.

She’ll blow you away if you’re not familiar with her.

LeftistLawyer,

@pandion No. They’re taking serious the numerous smaller crimes that always occur before the big one. Giving lie to the often repeated law enforcement conclusion “it came out of nowhere.” No. It didn’t. There is a pattern of crimes that consistently get swept away by law enforcement because it’s “just domestic violence.”

LeftistLawyer,

@pandion it’s made much more difficult once you are “part of the system.” If you’ve never been in trouble with the law, I can assure you, once law enforcement has their hooks in you it’s really hard to get them out.

It’s well known that over the past couple of decades, at least, women have been attending college in greater numbers than men. It’s also well known that they outperform men academically over the same time frame as well.

Many of these women are studying subjects that have been neglected by men since Galileo. And they’re making amazing discoveries.

Ladies and mysoginists, the new science will be dominated by women. New frontiers will be explored, and old frontiers will be tested by intellects alien to “man”kind.

I’m fucking here for it.

LeftistLawyer,

@violetmadder My takeaway is her book is chock full of revelations like that.

    All this damage. For what?

    We call it entertainment
    Are you entertained now?

    Movie producers call it profit.

So, next time you’re rooting for that stupid fucking unrealistic ultra masculine Hollywood hero, remember — you’re rooting for violence against women.

    LeftistLawyer,

@lolonurse Correct. Heard a stat today that something like 60% of domestic violence occurs in front of children. This is how it’s learned.

    LeftistLawyer, to random

Ok, I rarely do this, but for the sake of anecdotal research could you please boost?

    1. Are you O negative blood type?
    2. Have you had covid?

Please chime in with your experience.

    LeftistLawyer,

@deepmud I probably should have said all o’s. That’s what the research indicates. You’re the third o+ with none claiming to have ever had Covid.

    LeftistLawyer,

@palin Dang. This is unheard of so far in the thread. Anything unique about why do you think?
