It’s a shame I never used my hatred for clothes shopping as a motivator for weight loss. I always assumed I don’t like clothes shopping because of my size. Who knows, it’s like a weird chicken-egg situation. Wish I was more accepting of my body without being obsessed. #BodyImage #rant

When I worked retail my other coworkers and I couldn't believe how junky and unattractive the majority of the clothing was for the larger women's sizes.

And average women have issues too with the clothing. Sleeves and pants that are too short and some stores creating all of their clothing based upon the juniors department. They remove all choice. And they wonder why they lose out to online sales.

the beauty of handwritten letters is often overlooked in today's digital world. that’s why i love receiving a handwritten note, it shows the sender's dedication to express their feelings by giving more efforts. even imperfections like stains add raw authenticity to the letter.

(I haven't received any for at least 10 years, to be honest.)

That's the problem isn't it. Too many people and organizations think you must be like them when what you are doing affects no one but you.

You are doing it wrong if it doesn't meet some idealized archetype.

That mentality only leads to frustration and troubles.

Just tried to refute a photo and claim about wind turbines being a horrible source for bird (especially bald eagle) deaths. After my first response was about other things killing more than the wind turbines do, Facebook wouldn't let me post more. Don't know if the person I was chatting with did it or a FB algorithm didn't like my political speech. I was calm and posted a link to a .edu article to support my argument.

I had a weird realization yesterday:

Part of why I hate chatbots (ai or otherwise) is the same reason I hate watch videos for information: I lose control of how quickly I can access and skim content.

I’ve been taught to scan and judge text information at a decent speed and with decent accuracy. I can’t do that with bots and video- I am stuck moving at the pace someone else sets for the interaction.

Yep. Instead of making good content that would keep you reading or watching something found on the internet, SEO wonks have created content that requires you to slog through their garbage to find the one thing you were looking for.

They can then show to advertisers that engagement is high. Just look at how long the average Joe spends on this one page/video.

I'd think you'd keep your plants too wet if you kept two inches of water at the bottom of the barrel. Stuff would die.

If you are wanting a self watering pot you have to build in a wicking chamber. It'll keep the soil from getting too wet.

Lately I've discovered the Platinum Plaisir. It can be ignored for weeks and will write right away. Hard starts in my Pilot Metropolitan ten years ago almost frustrated me enough to want to give up the hobby.

The DJ was touted as something that would help you discover new stuff. It doesn't do that at all. It likes to play the stuff you listened to already ad naseum, whether you "liked" the song or not.

And I get it. Studies show we listen longer when songs we know get played. It's true for celestial radio and streaming.

But I get better enjoyment putting my 900 favorite songs on shuffle than I ever do using the DJ.
