I dislike this meme and if you post it I'm assuming you're a class reductionist who is leaning into their white male privilege and doesn't have time for anti-bigotry efforts.

The idea isn't wrong in broad strokes, but it obscures that "culture wars" are about class differences. Women aren't saying "end sexism because it's gauche and distasteful." We're saying "end sexism because it costs us money and kills us." Black people aren't demanding an end to racism because racism is a bad look. They're saying that racism impoverishes and kills them, whether it's by a cop's bullet or hypertension from constant stress. And so on and so forth.

"Culture wars" are not distinct from "class wars." If you think otherwise, well, stop listening to "them."

@asbestos I also disagree with the implication that the average MAGA dude has zero actual material class solidarity with the capitalist guy. It's fine to counsel class solidarity where it applies, but as I said elsewhere in replies, the MAGA people are disproportionately petit bourgeois. They may not own Lockheed Martin but they own a company that contracts for Lockheed Martin. For example.

@br00t4c TL;DR: It's because the COVID mask analysis in question excluded evidence not from Randomly Controlled Trials (RCTs). But RCTs are a bad way to get evidence about masks (among other things, like the efficacy of flossing or parachutes), and there are lots of good studies that aren't RCTs about masking and COVID.
