99.9% of jobs do not require urgency of any kind, really they don't. We've all had a boss who acts like someone will die if we don't hit some made up deadline by people who don't even do the job. No one needs their meal 1 minute faster or the paperwork before tomorrow morning. Your time off actually doesn't need to wait. Sometimes I think about how legitimately bad most businesses are at time management and hiring, and I wonder how they manage to exist at all.

@RickiTarr @pseudonym I think he'll have to just to get experience. He has a masters in biology and has been looking since June. It's been rough. I just want to yell at everyone to hire my awesome son. But I think that would embarrass him. 😆

@RickiTarr My son is looking for a job. Had an interview and hiring mgr on zoom goes "want to bet we are both not wearing pants". My son, instead of just laughing goes into how it's a losing bet. He said interview didn't go well after that. Later got an email saying he wasn't a good fit. It was a fucked up question and would never be asked of a female interviewee. Those looking for jobs are always fucked.

Moved in to our building 3 years ago.

I have never been able to clean my whiteboard.

I have been for 3 years, trying every single internet tip and trick. Buying cleaning products etc…

Yesterday I finally bit the bullet and emailed our maintenance staff to say that: “I need a new whiteboard, I've essentially tried everything and now there's just no white space left".

About an hour later, someone turned up and with kindness slowly removed the protective film I’ve been writing on for 3 years…

How much alone time vs socializing do you need?

For me there are a few people who are usually equalizing, and I can just be around them, so I won't count that. But generally, I find about 3 times a week, I'm game for socializing. A day in between to rest is usually nice, but the larger the gathering or if we go somewhere particularly noisy or I'm meeting new people that involves more effort, and my social battery empties sooner. I'm very curious where everyone else falls on this!

Okay, so last night I was on a date, and I asked hubs what he was up to at work, and he told me he learned Python, so he could write a program to help people troubleshoot computer problems on their own.

I ask him, "You're creating a program to replace yourself?"

Apparently, just the boring easy stuff he doesn't want to deal with, because he has better ideas about how he wants to use his time at work.

@RickiTarr Was just in Barcelona for a few days, where one in our group spoke fluent Spanish, tapas weren't free with drinks at any of the places we went to. Yes, cheaper than in the States, but far from free. Maybe outside Barcelona area?

This is the point that Mitchell was trying to make but very poorly. But, against a competent lawyer, it's easier for Gorsuch to tip his hand.

I have a big group chat with my a large amount of my real life friends, then smaller groups out of that group that have particular interests:

One is for the people who live locally to plan activities.

One is for art, but maybe the kind of art that not everyone would want to see.

One for BBQ and cocktails.

One where we talk about terrible home renovations and shit exes.

One specifically for handyman information and planning if someone moves or needs help with a project.

One where we seem to mostly talk about cute dogs, and often cheese.

Plus individual chats.

But now I'm wondering who has chats without me, do they have a secret chat where everyone talks about how I'm in everyone's business?!

@mike As a Sharks fan, and Norcal person, I feel that way about the Ducks and Kings. But in my soul, I always say, "West is the Best". So ... short of an asteroid taking them out. Yes, I would cheer them on if it came down to it.
