I don’t get it. My very expensive AfterShokz bone-conductive headphones arrived, and they vibrate my temples to distraction, just like the clones did. Maybe my bones are just atypical? I can’t believe anyone finds this pleasant. Oh well, back they go.

anne_twain,
@anne_twain@theblower.au avatar

@shoq Well, they are bone conduction. They work by literally vibrating your bones.

Sometimes the way people phrase things is so telling. For instance, telling women they should be "taking care of" their husband and children. Another adult doesn't need taken care of like a child, what you want is for women to be a Sex Mom.

anne_twain,
@anne_twain@theblower.au avatar

@thepoliticalcat I was born in 1952. Women of my mother's generation hated the role, yet at the same time felt heavily obligated to carry it out. They would have joined in condemning a woman who didn't "have dinner on the table", shirts ironed, nappies pegged on the line etc.

The domestic side of things was the only area of their lives where they had control. The whole of society saw the man as boss in every other aspect of life.

@justafrog @StillIRise1963 In my lifetime of seven decades I've learned that it's not possible to gauge someone else's level of pain, and for that reason no-one is in a position to tell another person how to respond to or express pain.

Both emotional and physical pain can be crippling.

I suggest you stop judging others and pay attention to how you live your own life.

@DukeDuke @blogdiva If you need to extend the rhubarb a bit, add a peeled and sliced cooking apple (eg Granny Smith). Or just because rhubarb and apple is good.

If you're English or Australian, serve with custard.
