My husband cleaned up the patio. We're hosting the July 4th cookout tomorrow and I believe we have 10 total, counting ourselves. We have a 6-seat table and 2 outdoor loveseats and one glider. So we can sit 12, with an additional two chairs to pull up to the table. We'll be good! We accounted for hosing as many in that space as possible XD

I would never need an ad blocker if ads hadn't become so intrusive.

I'm okay with sponsorship if it's spelled out from the beginning.
I'm okay with TV commercials when they don't raise the audio levels.

I was okay with ads on the internet before banner ads, flash abuse, and Java abuse.

I don't like being personally targeted for clicks. The whole click bait thing that's driving the commercial internet now is beyond annoying, it's hurting actual search options.

No autoplay on anything. Ever.

Happy to say that the bike fitting efforts the last couple of weekends seem to have paid off. An extra cm of saddle setback and a short reach handlebar that is definitely within my shoulder width were ingredients, and let's not forget the 2 cm shorter front of the frame, which was why I started the whole New Old Bike project. (The 1 cm less top tube due to the 1° steeper seat tube has been swallowed up by the 30 mm instead of 21 mm setback of the seatpost). #BikeTooter #Retrogrouch

Internet search sucks now.

Making a classic "search engine" requires obscene amounts of money and resources, so creating direct competition is not a realistic option.

But what if we had a way to each take our own personal bookmarks and link collections, and share them, using a federated protocol?

My fifty sites, your sixty-five links, some friends and their contributions... All hand-selected and vetted, manually tagged and organized by real people... Hosted on small, volunteer-run servers...

What if web search results were organized not by "how many ad dollars did this site generate for the search company" but rather something like "someone you know directly tagged this site, and someone twice-removed tagged this other site so it's lower priority"?

I want to apologize again for the sudden block from mstdn to .art💔

Some say it's because they where bashing on meta but that's untrue.

The admin was spreading mis information about the discussion that only fueled the fire and not the discussion with knowing any of the facts

If a "user" does this we can handle accordingly but when an admin does this it's getting worrisome

We should not figh each other but rather talk about it like adults, and also I am to blame in this

1 -The time a guy burst into tears and talked non-stop about his ex-wife and how much he missed her.
2- A close second would be when we sat down, and the guy asked if I ever considered turning blond, gaining weight, and wearing more revealing clothes. I excused myself and took an Uber home before we ordered.
