I just came across another interesting word from the "ped-" root: "pajamas"!

It literally means "leg clothing" in the Persian "paejamah," and that "pae-" goes back to the "ped-" root.

How fun that such disparate words as "pajamas," "pejorative," "pedicure," and "pawn" (foot soldier) are all related.

    All my life, as soon as I shared how abusive my father was, I was told to feel sorry for my mom. All these time people thought, he was beating up my mom, but in reality he beat ME up. Not my mother.

    Yes she was mentally abused by that guy (we all were), I won’t deny it. But my situation was such an anomaly/unbelievable no one ever tried to help me

    Here’s the thing about DV victims- we remember every details. And if you’re unfortunate enough to experience from an early age, it shapes your brain beyond repair. The first time he hit me I was 6.5 yrs and the last time was when I was in college (19)

    This is one of the many other reasons I don’t have a (good) relationship with my parents. And I’m extremely okay with it. Do I wish it was different? Every single day! Would I ever forgive them? Heck no!

    Any person who tells me “…but they are your parents!! You owe them your life!” gets an automatic block because you don’t know my life and no, I don’t owe them shit. I didn’t ask to be born. Not to people like them. Please STFU
