Sometimes I think about the time a famous infosec guy told a story about how he once hit a girl during sex and she turned right around and punched him in the jaw. He told this as a funny anecdote and not a confession of being a violent abuser. And everyone laughed.

@seldo I desperately want to believe that the cage match would prove, once and for all, how ridiculous and unserious these men (and by extension, all men of their ilk) are, but another part of me suspects that I'm giving humanity too much credit in that hope.

We're at the Stars Above Circus! I've arranged my life such that sometimes I have to go to the circus for work. The show hasn't started yet, it's on a 30 minute delay.

There was 15 minutes of steady rain, and for the past 20 minutes or so they've been working diligently to dry the stage. The stage manager isn't satisfied, she's shaking her head and trying to decide.

A flight of 5 turkey vultures just circled over us. When they banked they caught the lowering sun.

In 1992 Sinéad O'Connor ripped a picture of the Pope in half on Saturday Night Live to protest the sex abuse scandals in the Catholic Church. She was roundly condemned except by a few.

In the years and decades that followed the truth came out and the scope of abuse within the Catholic Church came to light. Many, but not enough, were punished. Many, but no where near enough, victims were heard, believed and lived to see some measure of justice.

I’m fairly confused about why all these red-faced screeching angry alt-right dudebros thought the Barbie movie was in any way for them, made or marketed with them in mind, or was intended to cater to their interests, agenda, or opinions in any way.

Just because these rotted ichthyosaurs are all twisted up inside because their dads wouldn’t let them play with Barbies doesn’t mean even THIS has to pander to them.

Ironsworn/Starsworn do a fascinating job of providing Solo, GM-Less, and GM'd experiences and the Oracles could be helpful for other games too.

@seldo Crater Lake is beautiful. I recommend you and John visit Stehekin on Lake Chelan in Central Washington some time. Great hiking, only accessible by trail, small plane, or ferry. Very relaxing.

The now simultaneous WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes are the first time in more than 60 years that both writers and actors have been on strike simultaneously. Primary issues include streaming, AI, and more. As you can imagine, this is serious stuff here in L.A.

@textfiles I still think about him complaining about the Affordable Care Act because he was concerned that it would negatively impact his wife who worked in Medical Billing.

Like, I don't necessarily want your wife to be unemployed dude, but "the relationship between care providers and insurers is so complicated it takes an office full of people to figure it out" isn't exactly an endorsement of our healthcare system.

Apollo has an opt-out sub refund screen out. Since I unfortunately know, first hand, all about this process I'll say this is all incredibly stressful. If you ever had a sub for Apollo, even if you uninstalled it and deleted Reddit, go check it out and at least consider it.

It's probably only a few $s for you but those $s get multiplied by 10s of thousands of subs and end up being real money straight out of Christian's pockets.

    The democrats should propose a bill that nobody convicted of a felony can run for president and watch the GOP squirm as to why a felon should be unable to vote but eligible to run for president.

    @ochaos @Billboquet @lillyfinch @seldo Denying them voting rights just further cements the voting power of the Wardens/Guards/etc especially for Rural Prisons where there isn't much else around, though.

    Plus, if folks are really concerned about the prison vote swinging elections, they should probably consider putting fewer people in prison.

    The arguments in favor of dishenfranchisment are just so bad.
