Has anyone tried the new Activity Pub plugin for Wordpress?

It’s out of beta now.

I have a Wordpress site (which I need as an author) and a Mastodon instance (which I need because I am a control freak).

If Activity Pub works as it should, I won’t need both — but we can’t get Activity Pub to work on a Wordpress site.

Has anyone tried this?

I will trade legal analysis for technical help. (Fediverse economics)

geekdad,
@geekdad@twit.social avatar

@Teri_Kanefield I have it turned on for GeekDad.com. It lets every one of our members have an account on our domain and everything they publish goes out as a Mastodon post under their name. With the Friends co-plugin, responses become comments too. Really neat!

Do you consider yourself a nerd? (Definition: a person who is extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable about a particular subject, especially one of specialist or niche interest)

In this context I’m talking about the word in its positive meaning, it can be tech, board games, movies, etc. It’s usually if you are a problem solver, a thinker, a techie.

They say Mastodon is a niche platform for nerds so I just want to see the numbers. Don’t let this influence your decision. If you think you’re even a slightest bit nerdy, it’s a yes. Otherwise no. Boosts appreciated.

So you're carrying a ball of anti-matter across Engineering, and you trip. What happens?

I mean before the catastrophic explosion that vaporizes you and everything around you.

Does the anti-matter ball fall down... or up?

https://badastronomy.substack.com/p/if-you-trip-on-the-way-to-the-warp

geekdad,
@geekdad@twit.social avatar

@badastro To be the geek, if you were carrying that ball of anti-batter across engineering, it'd have to be in magnetic containment already, so if you drop the bottle (which had better be designed robustly enough to survive such a fall intact), the anti-matter would fall with the bottle. Unless you, per standard safety protocols, were using a bottle with anti-gravity repulsers to effectively let the bottle float above the deck, in which case, no fall whatsoever (at least relative to the deck).

Tried the new FaceTime features on TvOS and iOS last night to chat with family and it was pretty darned neat! Set my iPhone up against the base of our living room TV with the camera facing towards the sofa, opened the app in the Apple, connected the phon, and it just worked. The focus tracking was excellent and we had a great experience. It's really a game-changer for video chat. So much better than doing with screen-sharing from the phone before.

    I created a free interactive quiz for to discover which Order a Mammal belongs to. If you'd like to beta test it and let me know if you find glitches, I'd appreciate it. I've stared at the screen for too long and am no longer seeing the branching questions objectively. The plugin limits me to a max of 25 categories, so I had to get creative. TIA for the feedback.
