The wildest bag someone recommended from this post is the TomToc Navigator. It's 40L, but only weighs 2.8 lb, has water bottle holders, compression straps, great laptop/iPad compartment, and one massive clamshell bucket for clothes. And it's only $80, which concerningly cheap

If they used X-Pac or a nicer material it could be even lighter and more durable, add in stowable straps, would be an absolute slam dunk

@christianselig @monorailtimes I have a 40L Technoaut and there’s a water bottle pocket. It’s not a one size fits all, but it works well. I also have their laptop bag and there’s a nice water bottle sleeve in the middle.

I was just reminded of around twenty years ago when this guy who I knew on LiveJournal took extreme creative liberty and used the head from my LiveJournal profile pic and Photoshopped an image of me and sent it to me as a "gift" and I was just like "uhhhhhhhhhh...thank you?"

free idea: esoteric imdb app that shows me all the people who have been in two shows/movies together. for instance, i noticed a lot of minor characters’ actors from the sopranos in early seasons of 30 rock.

I have bought and used 2 different generations of iPad Pro, most recently the 2022 version.

The hardware has consistently been incredible. And it looks like the newest iteration holds up that tradition.

But every time I buy an iPad, I buy it in anticipation of an OS that doesn’t exist and still hasn’t arrived.

I’ll be sticking with my current device and using my Mac.

Help me Mastodonians, you’re my only hope!

Does anyone have for a low chair or pillow for my desk? Right now, these three pillows are almost perfect to be able to sit on the floor, but it’s a bit unstable. I have been looking for floor pillows and poufs, but maybe I need something else?

Fallout (2024-)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’ve never seen an adaptation be so perfectly executed. The tone, the set dressing, the story… every detail is exactly what you’d expect in the Fallout universe. Even the sense of dark humor and insanity is pitch perfect. Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy are brilliant and this show was fantastic. Here’s to more!

Ah, May, 1999. While people waited in line — some overnight or even for days — a small group of us popped across the Nova Scotia border half an hour before showtime, and saw STAR WARS: Episode I, The Phantom Menace a time zone ahead of most of North America.

And were disappointed before everyone else.

@matthiasott I use iA Writer and love it! Used to have a spreadsheet with statuses, but now I just leave notes on the draft in iA.

So I booked a flight for next week, the first time in quite a while

At first I was looking at United, but a lot of their planes were Max 8s or Max 9s, or just Boeing in general, and I was like ... do I realllllly want to roll those bones

Then realized Delta flew the same routes but with Airbuses

I wonder how many other people are making these sorts of calculations?

Not too many, I'd suspect, but not zero

had a thought that i don’t know if it’s true, but it feels true: push enables spam and other forms of abuse, but pull prevents them. example: you push emails, but you pull rss feeds. on social media, you push mentions, but you pull follows

@exchgr It also aligns with algorithmic feeds vs follow-based one: you’re pushed content vs pulling what you opted into. Great observation!
