For those in the US, WhatsApp may not sound like much. It is just another messaging app.

Transmission lines get hotter as the amount of power they are transmitting increases.

Currently, the operator doesn't have real-time information about line temperatures. So, they estimate a safe value, and transmit power based off on that value. ⚠️

Knowing the precise temperature, the grid operator knows how close the line is to maxing out on its capacity. 🔶

These “magic ball” sensors — which cost about $30,000 each — may sound expensive, but they have already helped to increase the amount of power that could be delivered on a line by up to 42.8%, in one case!! 📈📈📈

I am against hating cars.

Cars have a lot of negative effects on the world, however, the positive impacts can not be ignored.

A small car can mean a lot to someone, esp. in the developing world. Coming from such a country, I have seen the benefits a small car can bring to a family.

Also: you can support public tpt, without hating cars! Don't hate! That's not our style! 😁

By the way, if you are stuck in crowded areas, and the 4G isn't "4G-ing":

Try switching to 3G/2G. It is slow, but there would be less congestion on those network bands. You can send important messages over internet.

$100 per MWh (renewables) vs Japan’s $500 - $900 per MWh (ammonia). 😮

Everything that requires energy to manufacture in Japan won’t be competitive with anything built in renewables-heavy countries. So, Japan’s economy will fall apart and its GDP will plummet. 😕

There’s no pathway for a country to base its economy on importing ammonia (or any other green hydrogen derivative) as an energy carrier that doesn’t end in economic failure for them. ☹️
