Okay, , ich brauch mal nen Labeldrucker.

Anforderungen:

  1. Eigene Tastatur/Display, mit der ich ohne weitere Geräte Standardlabels drucken kann.
  2. Kann per USB angesprochen werden, um Standardlabel oder Bitmaps von Linux zu drucken (CLI tooling oder einfach nur ein USB-Serial-Socket + Protokollspezifikation würd mir reichen).
  3. Kein DRM auf Tapes und keine Anzeichen vom Hersteller, so was einführen zu wollen.

Wegen 3 seh ich nur Brother, dort aber nix, was 1 und 2 kann. Gibts da noch andere?

Die Debatte über das Sylt-Video zeigt, wie wenig die letzten Jahrzehnte die Perspektive eingewanderter Menschen stattfindet. „Ausländer raus!” war nie weg und schon immer ein Gedanke, der in allen Teilen der Gesellschaft vorlag. Die Leute haben nun nur das Gefühl, es wieder laut(er) sagen zu können.

When did you first know you wanted to be a writer?

To be honest, I never really wanted to be a writer. It was never something I dreamed about. My brother dreamed of being a writer and, perhaps because it was his dream, I never thought about it all that much. I mean, I had to do a lot of writing, as a student & academic. But I was never really very good at it. I always thought it was ironic to be a writing teacher. But in just the past 5 years, I've ended up an author. Weird.

I often brag on tumblr about how "on the fediverse I never have to ask people for image descriptions, why is tumblr so terrible at this?" etc.

But, I've made the mistake of re-sharing a few images without descriptions recently! I was lulled into thinking it was not a problem.

Just FYI I'm going to get strict again about not re-sharing undescribed images. (You should too, it keeps the feed readable.)

If you forget? If this is new? Don't feel bad, just stop doing that.

i’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to be a solodev, the misconceptions, how difficult it gets…because i’m 💯 set on starting an event that celebrates & highlights that. if we had that it would help with negative conceptions & give space for others to find eachother!

we need more empowerment for modes of artistic independence… and for these conversations to evolve beyond pedantic nitpicking or invalidation toward people actually working so hard to do it… it’s a completely different way to make games.

So, I went to this beautiful dairy yesterday, and when I got out of the car, one at a time about six dogs of various sizes and types come out to greet me. The last one was a little weiner dog, who just kept barking, and I was worried I was offending him in some way. The owner came out, and said, "Oh don't worry about that, he just loves attention, and belly rubs, but he doesn't know how to get them, so he just keeps barking, and scares people."
And sure enough the moment I crouched down, he stopped barking and rolled on his back for belly scratches. Anyway, I relate to this dog.

Here comes a thread on light pollution from satellites, with a concrete action that you all can take to help push for regulation of satellites in orbit!

Astronomers have been worried about light pollution from satellites (if you've been following me for more than 24 hours, you've perhaps heard a bit about this). Astronomers spent SO much time and effort begging and pleading with Starlink to make their satellites fainter, with mixed results.

Man überlegt also allen Ernstes den Kampf um die Bergung des Atommülls aus der Asse aufzugeben und den Schacht absaufen zu lassen. Zu deutsch die Verteilung der Radioaktivität dem Zufall der Wasseradern zu überlassen. Ich bin ja dafür, dass man fortan zur Regel macht, dass Atomjünger*innen ihren Mineralwasserbedarf mit Asse Mineral decken müssen..

Wir bei stehen klar gegen - auch mit unseren Wahlplakaten! In ganz Deutschland kann man gerade den Aufruf, es uns gleichzutun, an Laternen sehen – außer in . Anders als in den meisten Städten in Deutschland darf in Marburg nicht von Parteien selbst plakatiert werden – die Stadt beauftragte , die Plakate anzubringen.

Ströer entschied sich gegen den Willen der Stadt “solche Motive [zu] zensieren” – weil es gegen “die guten Sitten” verstoße.

With regards to the right wing in Germany, it needs to be said that many people no longer believe that fascism can be avoided, unless there is a much stronger reaction from both the active political sphere and the citizenry.

It‘s time to cut the crap and realize that this may get very violent. All antifascists should prepare for defense against right-wing riots and pogroms.
