For a very, very brief moment or two, I was almost alone at the top of Glastonbury Tor. I’ve never managed to be the only human up there, but it’ll happen. Still, today was beautiful because it FELT like I was alone, and had these two gorgeous crows hovering just overhead. They came much closer to me than the photo shows, but I didn’t dare move to scare them off. 💚

More impermanent art on fallen leaves. Here, a sycamore. It’s a bit like writing a letter then burning it. There’s something very healing in drawing on a leaf, with certain intentions and feelings in mind, and then letting it go. Under the tree that it fell from, then into the river that keeps it alive. A very meaningful little ritual I can’t recommend enough. 💚

Houseplant Hospital is one of my favourite ways to spend a morning. Take all 30 or so , gather them outside in one place. Assess, repot, spray, have a conversation, change where they live in the house. Needed an emergency clinic today as some have doubled in size since moving to our new place 4 months ago. Houseplant care is excellent . 💚

For those who feel a need for a little protection, may this energy reach you. 💚 Nothing evokes Protection for me more than holly. An altar of stone, holly in three colours, and ivy. Should I have worn gloves? That would have been ideal. 😌 But I didn’t know I was making this until I started making it.

As I age, I become less and less a fan of unnecessary complexity and chaos. A single candle & a quiet space have an awful lot to offer. Magic for people who don’t believe in magic. Magic for those of us who do. Bringing actual little physical fires to your thoughts is such a beautiful thing.

Got attacked by a swarm of wasps yesterday when I inadvertently stepped on their… I dunno. Enormous Family, I guess. I’m allergic though so I’m very miserable, can’t sleep, and am in a lot of pain. This is just a 5am misery wolf call for those sympathetic to being a wasp buffet. 😞

I can’t get over how adorable these mini playing card decks are. In about 2 weeks I launch a Kickstarter campaign to fund 2 sets of decks in standard & mini sizes. Scroll back a little bit to see photos of the other deck!

I stood on the bank of a river today and watched a wall of rain approaching, seeing the texture of the river change as it approached. Stood under a willow for a little shelter, but mostly just enjoyed it. Its difficult to tell by this photo, but you can sort of see the line on the river of the approaching rain wall. It was beautiful.

Witches and that sort,

  1. Do you commune with the dead?
  2. What techniques do you use?
  3. Are you comfortable with ghosts/spirits being in your house?

So growing up in rural Kentucky with tons of superstition, we were all raised NOT to have ghosts in our houses. Communication when needed is fine, but the living and the dead have their own places.

Nowadays, many people talk about living in haunted houses and feel very comfortable with this.
